Kitory 7" Meat Cleaver, Double Edge Heavy Duty Butcher Knife

The QQHZ is a beautiful knife in very attractive packaging. At a very good price, it would make a great gift for anyone on your list that cooks. This blade has a wonderful, balanced feel in the hand. Nicely heavy, I'm sure it will do well cleaving bone when I am ready to butcher my steer. The upper blade will be very nice to do finishing cuts, as well. Both blades are already razor sharp and based on other reviews, I'm sure they will stay that way with frequent, minor touch-ups. The workmanship is excellent, making this cleaver a beautiful addition to my knife set. I look forward to being able to use it! I also bought the HHLCLEAVER for use on non-bone pieces of beef, bone-in chicken, vegetables, and the like. It is also a very well-balanced blade and has a good feel in the hand. The craftsmanship is very high quality and I can imagine passing both of these knives on to my grandchildren, if the day ever comes when I don't cook. Both cleavers are going to be great assets in the kitchen.

This cleaver exceeds every expectation! Quality, weight, sharpness, balance. If there was any complaint, I wish there was a blade cover for the upper shorter blade. The first time I used the cleaver I placed my hand on the upper blade and left an imprint! It very easily could have ended me up in the E.R ! That mistake will never happen again.

Wood on handle rattles a bit past that a decent blade with a full tang.

I was impressed with the cleaver’s weight, balance and cutting ability. The cleaver looks aggressive but is very functional. The is a dual purpose blade with one grind most suited for heavy use - bones, tough cartilage. And a finer grind suited for more refined cuts - vegetables, meats. What I did not initially consider is storage. This is a double bladed knife - sharp on the normal blade side as well as part of the spine. I bought a sheath, but it required much finesse to get it in and out. Solution: a magnetic butcher board. Now I do not need to deal with the edges going in and out of a sheath and it has a great appearance along with my other chef knives on my kitchen counter. Highly recommended.

The value of this knife is above its price. It is pretty sharp and very easy to handle large meat.

This is a very sharp knife. I actually cut my shirt with the top part forgetting that it had to sides. The first time using, the pins that hold the wooden handle together fell apart. Did not try to return had for awhile before actually using. It was actually sharper than my name brand Japanese, Russian and German knives. Think about getting the handle Re dune if possible. Really wanted to like this knife. 3 star only because it was very sharp! Not sure how long the blade would of stayed sharp after falling apart cut up one duck and one chicken. Only one pin is left.

For the price on Amazon, there isn't a better butcher's blade you can buy in stores. I buy my Prime rib by the rack and cut myself. This blade cleans through the bone and the back blade especially for the closer more contoured bones separating the ribs. I am very pleased. The grip could have been a little better (hence the 4 star rate in one category) the bottom of the blade doesn't cut into but rests in a cautious/Brea uncomfortable secure manner. Aside from that a great culinary instrument in my kitchen

Amazed. This butcher knife is so sharp, 1 chop and it cut through chicken lile butter and split cutting board.

Exactly what was promised. Good balance. Right weight. And comfy handle too. Feels like it will last me a life time.

Firstly, it is a well crafted knife. Solid, sharp. It is however awkward. When trying to cut through tough meat or bones if you don't go all the way through, well the saw motion doesn't work and you can't wack the back of the blade or you do major damage to yourself. We plan to hone down the upper blade to make it one sided.
