Blue Moon

My eight-year-old daughter wanted to be Coraline for Halloween. In previous years we used wigs but she takes them off before the party even starts because they itch too much. I had used manic panic before in my light blonde hair and wasn’t sure her sandy blonde brownish hair was going to hold the color well. But the color turned out bright and beautiful. The fact that this is non-toxic is a huge plus. I would never put ammonia or anything nasty on my child’s hair. It can be a little messy to apply so you better have some plastic gloves. If it gets on your furniture you can wipe it off with all purpose cleaner or nail polish remover for stone. Apply lotion on her forehead, neck and ears prior to covering her hair with this product to avoid dying them blue. It will come off but not the first day. It’s been 10 days since Halloween and she has been washing her hair every day. The color stayed bright for about five washes and then started fading. It’s now a light greenish blue. Her hair is soft and shiny. If you need the color to wash out faster all you have to do is shampoo your hair with a little bit of baking soda and let the shampoo sit inside a plastic cap for about 20 minutes before rinsing it off. Manic panic products seem to actually help your hair. I recommend this product.

Took forever ! (4 hrs) to prepare, bleach and color. Beautiful teal color that faded pretty quick with first wash and bleed quite a bit too. He has red hair normally , I wasn’t able to fully strip the color out ( see pic ) but the result was still quite lovely 💕

Worked great, I had tried a couple of other dyes before this one and they didn’t stick to my hair. This one worked quickly and the color lasts a while, I didn’t see the need to touch up till about 2 weeks after dying and even then it was minimal. It does stain counters and skin! So be careful when using - I found rubbing alcohol works to get it off of your skin the best.

In late July, rather than going on a summer trip, I spent a pretty penny getting my hair professionally bleached and dyed navy blue after 4 years of burgundy box dye. The degree of lightening varied due to the build up of the permanent dye (total bleaching took 2.5 hours). To maintain the color after dropping the cash, my stylist recommended adding any shade of blue manic panic to my conditioner. 3 months later my color remains vibrant. I’ve been washing twice weekly with Redken color extend and adding a generous amount of Blue Moon to my conditioner, leaving in for duration of shower (about 10-15 min). The dye does rub off on skin occasionally and my fingernails, especially the tips, look a little cyanotic at times. No fading to wierd green hue or other strange discoloration. I am regularly asked how I manage to maintain my rich color. Manic Panic is a key component of keeping it looking polished.

Such a lovely mermaid-y blue, reminiscent of swimming pools and tropical beaches in summer. I got a bunch of complements on this color. I used it in greater concentration on the lengths than the top to get a bit of a variegated look. It has great staying power, I did cover it with the Shocking Blue for the winter months but maybe I'll do this with some purple again this summer.

This Blue Moon dye had really bad coverage and pigmentation, faded almost immediately, and hasn't stopped getting blue dye all over my shower, pillowcase, clothes, and even my hands and it's been weeks since I dyed it. In the past I've used Electric Lizard Amplified (a neon green) and it was AMAZING -- vivid with no fading, and it had excellent pigmentation and coverage, and it didn't get all over everything. Compared to that... Well, I won't be trying a blue from Manic Panic again.

I used this product for my own hair and I love that it doesn’t fade fast. Tip: Make sure to wash your hair with cold water :).. I would definitely recommend it.

Turned my kid’s super dark brown hair to dark green. But we weren’t really expecting much (or any effect, really) since the hair is so dark. Actually looked pretty cool and he/we love it!

Colour is a really beautiful blue, like 2020 Ashniko. Worked great but takes FOREVER to fade from light blonde hair

I got this colour by mistake- I had ordered bad boy blue, and got voodoo blue (I think). Regardless, usually all manic panic products are great, and the amplified work amazingly well!
