I wish I knew about this sooner-- worked great to fix my siding issue
The morons who installed my siding used beads of caulking in the upper siding areas to 'hold' the siding in place. I discovered this last year when the siding started to fall either just from gravity or the wind. I was TIRED and frustrated to keep having to put the siding back into place only to discover that it fell down again the next day. I researched how to DIY fix this as getting someone to your house to fix something small like this is difficult to ridiculously expensive. I searched around and found 'how to' videos describing and showing this tool. I used it as soon as I got it... and it WORKED PERFECTLY. It fixed my siding issues, since I used this punch tool the siding has stayed in place and has not fallen down again. Easy enough, I wish I looked into it sooner as I've had some frustrated days annoyed at the guys who did my siding the cheap/quick way (and it wasn't cheap to install). Just pay attention to which side you punch down and make the snapping tabs. I made the tabs about every 6-7 inches and at the ends. Good luck! If you're seeing this tool because you've been recommended to get one... do it. It worked and it's apparently what "good" installers use.

Worth the money
Worked great, glad I went with this tool over some more expense ones. Had to repair a piece of siding above the rear sliding door that has been falling for years. placed a few tabs every 8-12" staying away from the last inches that would overlap another piece of siding and snap locked right into place. Used this on the top piece of siding and had the J channel already in place to use to lock it in.I only had to repair one 12' piece of siding so I can't comment on long term use of the tool but in my need it was perfect.

Makes good punch out
Tool feels hefty, has strong spring , would be nice to have a handle close lock , mine doesn’t say “made in USA”

Not Malco Quality
If I had it to do over, I'd purchase a Chinese knock-off instead, for half the price. These are stamped steel, exactly like the knock-offs. I'll keep them, but they are a disappointment.

Hecho en AMERICA!!
Worked perfectly for punching lock tabs in the last piece of vinyl siding. I personally seek out Made in America products and don't fall for that fine print "mostly america" or "global materials" lol. This is American made and did not dissapoint! Have since purchased many more Malco tools and love them all just as much.
