If you don't mind sitting on the floor, this table is perfect for the living room. The heating element has an easy to use adjustable knob and paired with a kotatsu comforter on top, it stays comfy and warm for the colder seasons. It's super easy to assemble and disassemble. The legs aren't perfectly secure so the table does have a slight wobble if you try to slide it around or bump into it. The warnings do say to not stand on the table which makes sense. Because this is a Japanese style table made in Japan, it does need an outlet converter to use the heating element. It works great and I am super happy with my kotatsu.

i would probably recommend this to anyone in my life the materials feel like good quality seems like solid wood the heater is very warm and it’s adjustable i didn’t have any issues with shipping and it all came neatly and works very well with the blanket i purchased to go with it

I'm so happy with this purchase!! The table is a very sturdy wood and it gets very warm, our cats love to sleep under it. The heater isn't hot to the touch so it's very safe for animals and kids. My only "issues" are that the legs are a tad wobbly so they need to be rescrewed occasionally but it's not really noticeable, there is also a standard strong heater smell like that smells like plastic but it goes away after a little while.

I lost my power cord like an idiot. I wrote the company and asked how to purchase a replacement but Protoya sent me a replacement for free! I thought that actually caring about customers, and going above and beyond, was a thing of the distant past - like stories your grandfather tells. So, already all the stars. But if you have never sat under a warm kotatsu with a cup of tea while the windows fill with snow.. man I feel bad for you. Space heaters, blankets, even fireplaces are not even in the same league of coziness. If you're on the fence, let this review convince you. This heated table is the only reason I look forward to winter - and the only thing keeping me from descending into seasonal despair. I am genuinely shocked that everyone in the world has not caught on. The table is sturdy, big enough without taking up too much space, strong heat, adjustable, sublimely comfortable. It's fairly attractive, neutral enough to fit with any decor. There is plenty of space underneath for the legs of two adults, two children, and a whole cat. When people come over it's a great conversation piece and everyone has to try it. Two of my friends also got one after experiencing it. The only problem, seriously, is that you never want to get out from under it. The house could be on fire and I'd be like, "Eh, maybe it'll go out on it's own." So if the circumstances of your life cause you to have to get up and do something every few minutes, don't buy one. The proper way to use this product is to turn it on in mid November, sit down, and get up sometime in March.

I've always wanted a kotatsu and I finally had the funds to get one. It's summer now but I did momentarily try to the heater and it works so well! It's very quiet and was super easy to assemble, no tools required because it comes with everything you need. It's shockingly such a comfortable height to sit at, it's nice to have a table so perfectly made for sitting. Wonderful for card games or eating meals at. Also since it was coming from Japan I was afraid it would be too small for my American body but it comfortably fits my friend and I with our legs crossed underneath it!

Amazing beautiful and high quality

Solid wood legs good cables, heater's a little flimsy feeling but worked fine so far. The fitment of the pieces was off and one leg had to be tightened significantly more than the others due to a wobble. The wood started to crack from the pressure of the screw and nut. The futon recommended doesn't seem to fit the table but it works well enough. The shipping was very fast and packaging was perfect no damage to the table. The manual was in full Japanese so worthless to a non-speaker. Felt sticky pads were included and didn't seem to be mentioned in the manual at all so no clue what they're for. The controls are in Japanese too so just gotta fiddle with it to see what they do. Slightly too small for two people but other models were too big or small so had to settle for this. For the price it's fantastic and the issues are excusable.

First off, i want to say this table is incredible quality, nothing like the MDF from ikea, this is a proper good table. Feels like very high quality wood, packaged perfectly and delicately and arrived in pristine condition. Secondly, even though the directions weren't in english, it was incredibly straight forward to figure out without it and all that was needed was 2 screws into the top of the table and the the legs with the hardware already attached. No fuss what so ever. Straight forward to plug it in and gets really warm very quickly! I ordered a futon blanket from another seller and it is everything i could have ever wanted. you see all these japanese shows and all these people being so happy to be under a kotatsu and the hype is incredibly justified. It is everything i've ever wanted for the last 15 years and i am so happy i picked this listing. Thank you for making my teenage dreams come true.

My dream of a Japanese decor for my home made a great leap forward with the LEGENDARY KOTATSU!

Ordered this to try out to see if I would like a kotatsu. Still don't got a futon for it but I can feel the nice warm heat coming off from the heating element. It is all wood and it feels nice and hefty. This compared to the other popular kotatsu table, I think this is worth the extra money just due to it being all wood rather than plastic. If you compare a coffee table of this size made out of all wood, you will realized this is actually quite cheap. Asked about paying customs from the seller and they reassured me if I get charged customs, to let them know and they will refund me that amount. Did not get charged!

This is a great table to sit under, especially when it’s cold outside.

Smaller in size than expected but sturdy wood table and the heating unit works well; easy to assemble. I guess it's an appropriate size for a typical dimension room in Japan but for North American standards it looks like a small coffee table. Perhaps ideal for a condo sized living space. We added a voltage converter just to be on the safe side and prolong electrical components. Otherwise, we are quite satisfied with this product so far.

Just beautiful in design and function. Highly recommend. The shipment arrived perfect and fast.
