Fjallraven - Foldsack No. 1 Backpack, Fits 15" Laptops

This pack is exceptional! Fjallraven is just one of those brands that gets it right. I really like the simplicity of most of their products. Also, everything they make is of the highest quality you can find. I am happy to pay the premium price to get a premium product that will outlast anything else. I had much rather own less stuff, but had what I do own be top quality. Fjallraven embraces this philosophy and I enjoy their products. This particular pack is just the right size for a personal item bag for air travel, a nice day pack for hikes, or just a sharp looking edc bag. There is very little information about it online and I couldn’t find any blog style reviews or videos. I decided to purchase it anyways and I’m happy I did. It really is a hidden gem in their line up. I hope they continue to make it for years to come. I do recommend putting your laptop in a top opening sleeve of some sort for extra protection. I have found that using this type of sleeve allows me to pull out my MacBook and leave the sleeve behind in the pack even when the pack is loaded with other stuff. Overall, I am very satisfied. I also purchased their little gear bag in a tan color to throw cables and charging blocks into. I plan on tossing this into the main pocket on top.

I've had this pack for a few weeks now, and it's great for everyday and travel. I tend to over-pack, or end up getting loads of groceries on my way back from work, and this always (amazingly) fits everything! The front pocket was really the selling point for me for a daypack, it's so handy to have. I have very small hands (because I'm female), but I have very few problems getting into the front pocket while the two clasps are closed over the pocket. I have noticed that getting jostled on the subway, if the clasps are not pulled tight, they can come undone--so just something to keep an eye out for. Overall very pleased with this, I can only hope (with the high-quality material and fastenings) that this pack holds up over time because I'm going to be using it a lot!

I use this backpack daily and couldn't be happier with it. I's big enough to hold my 13 in laptop, cord, and a few books or notepads, but still lays flat on my back, which I prefer. The front pocket isn't anything special, but I just wanted a place to throw some odds and ends and it works great for that. The straps are supportive. I feel like I can walk at least a mile with the weight of a computer and feel just fine. The front claps take a little breaking in, but once you get a rhythm down, they are easy to use and I honestly prefer them to any other closure. Visually this backpack is a stunner. The red is very true to the photo. It's deep and bright and stands out in a fun way. I've had this backpack for about 6 months now and I still get compliments on it all the time. It's well made, water resistant and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a sleek bag to carry around a moderate amount of stuff.

This is a great bag for travel as a personal item because it fits under the seat in front, and being rectangular with a roll top entry instead of rounded with a zipper entry, holds a good amount of stuff. I also love the style and color. However, I find myself wishing it had a ln external water bottle pocket. It has one exterior pocket that is a bit hard to get to under the flap, which is annoying but also makes it harder for pick pockets. It only has one internal pocket and a laptop compartment, but I like that. I never remember which pocket I use for what when bags have a lot of them. Instead I use zipper pouches to contain various items. It is very sturdy and made from cotton canvas. It does get dirt super easy and shows it (those airplane floors are kind of gross), so I sponge clean it often.

Bought this because I was looking for a backpack I could use for daily commuting walking or by bicycle, and it's been great. It is very solidly constructed, perfectly waterproof, and can easily hold my 15" MacBook Pro along with a sweater, water bottle, books, etc. The straps use a very clever hook and loop mechanism that takes some getting used to but seems much more long-lasting than the plastic clips used on other bags. My only warning to others is that it is an incredibly simple construction - there are no internal pockets other than an inner sleeve to hold a laptop and one pocket on the front that is covered by the fold - so if you're someone who likes to keep your stuff well-organized inside your bag, this may not be the bag for you. It can also be a little annoying to access the stuff in the front pocket on the go as well since there's no way to grab it without unhooking at least one of the straps. Still, relatively minor annoyances. I got it in green and it looks pretty snazzy - its much brighter and less "military" in color than you might expect from the pictures.

I absolutely love my Fjallraven foldsack. I have the matching color duffel no. 4 and they look awesome together. The main reason I bought this was as a laptop bag. I really worried when I first received the foldsack because I thought there was no way it would fit my 15.6" Dell laptop (the big one with the 10 key pad on the side). Honestly when I first opened the bag I thought it was so tiny, like a kids backpack. I was completely shocked when my Dell fit perfectly in the laptop sleeve in the bag. Lots of other room in the main compartment for my other accessories and whatnot. Also my iPad Air 2 with case first perfectly in the front zippered compartment as well. After packing my gear and wearing it the bag didn't seem small anymore but just the right size. Couldn't be happier with the build quality and size. This is 100% genuine Fjallraven product and came from Outland USA if that helps anyone.

I was looking for a minimalistic bag that was comfortable, sturdy, and good at protecting my electronics and books while commuting. This bag did it's freaking job well. The only downside I can imagine is that the bag is more moldable than I expected, the compartments molded out, especially in the spots where I put the most things, and the bag faded far from new in a month of everyday use. I was worried that the bag wouldn't do a good job of keeping the insides dry ... I was wrong; I took it out in the pouring rain for hours, and the inside was still bone dry. The materials feel high quality, and there is no cheap plastic whatsoever on it; where there would be cheap plastic on other branded backpacks is all metal. My only other concern is whether or not the straps keeping the main compartment sealed would stay strong or if they would easily slip. If the strap does stay well long term, I can easily see myself using this bag for several years.

LOVE IT!! It’s something between a backpack and a woman’s bag without compromising the style, it’s really well made, sturdy and spacious! I’m extremely happy!
