Works
Works right out of the box...CR2032 battery needed. The battery fits very smugly in this remote so removing it to replace may be problematic but figure I'll just buy another for $8. Original remote battery is still good after 18 years....the buttons just quit working properly.

BATTERY 2016 WILL WORK
The remote worked but my Bose has a bad receiver IC or whatever. I see 10 reviews and battery type, battery type. 2016 cell works fine, You can see the contacts on the button side of where you slide it in, so the bottom unmarked part of the battery goes up to contact that. To test that it's working, get your cell phone, open up the camera, press the buttons while pointing remote at your camera. You will see it light up. If it doesn't, the battery is in wrong or your battery is not a high enough Voltage. I first put in a 1,6V battery, and didn't work. New 3v was great. Hope this helps.

Works well
Bought a Bose radio at a garage sale for $5.00. Bought the remote for about the same. All is well!

I use this before my bose brand remote
So, I have 4 bose systems in my house and I lost one of the remotes so, here we are. I LIKE this remote-perhaps for the wrong reason... It is not as strong as my bose remote. If I shut off the living room bose system with the original remote it usually gets the kitchen one and sometimes even the den by bouncing off of God only knows what. The living room goes off, the kitchen and den come on... PAIN IN THE BUTT. The replacement does not do that!!! Obviously, it also isn't going to control your systems from the neighbor's yard either as it doesn't have the same reach as the Bose brand remote. Otherwise, these have been great!

it works
there are no instructions about which battery to install as the remote does not have battery supplied. i used 2032 battery and it was hard to install. The remote did work so mission accomplished. Price good . Quality may be below Bose quality but it works
