Bookkeeper [PC Download]

I so wish I had found this years ago and would have avoided online subscription costs for a system that has fewer features and capabilities!

After loading the software, it worked fine but I was continually getting virus notices and also files being infected with viruses. I called and asked why that would happen and tried to get a refund. I was told that I first needed to remove the program from my PC (which I did) and then would get a refund. I am very disappointed in the software as the program was just what I was looking for but could not risk my PC with all the problems caused by the installation.

I was pleasantly surprised by all the features and ease of use. I use Quickbooks at work so was familiar with accounting software. But needed something for a very small home business at an economical price as possible. Perfect for my needs.

Not really user friendly. Very basic. Can’t track a lot of things if you need to know what is what.

This accounting software is horrible. When you open it, it does not display in full screen, and it is very light which makes it difficult to see. It was relatively easy to setup, but after we created an invoice, it was difficult to locate it again to print it, or to even know how to print it! It was laughable. I'm glad it was inexpensive. You definitely get what you pay for!

Not for my use. I am looking for Fund Accounting for nonprofit use. Very complicated. I gave up.

Overall this is a good item for the money but there are a few things that would make it better. There is no way that I can find to make unused accounts that cannot be deleted inactive. This is advertised as a bookkeeping program for personal and business use. There are a lot of system accounts that would not be used for personal record keeping but they cannot be deleted or made inactive. This would be difficult for someone without an accounting background to use. There is no way to modify the layout of the reports. They are not laid out in the format that is typically used for financial reports. The accounts are listed alphabetically instead of by type. This makes some of the reports difficult to read. I have been using QuickBooks which is very user friendly. With a little modification, this could be as well. I do not want my financial software to be dependent on having an internet connection and I do not want my financial information stored on a server hundreds of miles away. The fact that I can install this on my computer and run it with no internet connection is a big selling point. It is very reasonably priced. This is why I changed from QuickBooks to this. I do not regret it.
