The look: Contributes to a peaceful vibe! It also has a high end feel compared to looking like a party-paper-lamp, which I was slightly concerned of. Quality: The reviews made me feel like it would be a flimsy and thin paper. Definitely not! ..and I have them in the past as a comparison. That said, it IS made of paper. lol You handle accordingly, of course. It also gives you the option to hang the light as a free standing, no wiring required (SCORE!!!), with everything you need, or you can hook it to your existing light as well. Lighting: It lit my living area of my urban loft. It’s soft enough for a cozy ambiance but still bright enough to read a book. It’s also compatible with a SMART BULB that allows you the ability to change the color, which is what I’m using. Worth the money: After the ease of pulling it from the box, feeling the material, the size, the incredible simplicity, to flipping the switch on, I actually would have paid more!!! This rice paper lantern is surprisingly durable for how fragile it could be. I have even sprayed it with fire retardant, and it did not disintegrate. I have used this in my classroom for years (first purchased in early 2021). Since that time, I have moved classrooms at least 4 times. This lantern collapses for travel, and is easy to reinstall. Changing out the lightbulb is fairly simple. Recently, a colleague complained that her part of the room was too dim. I purchased a second one of these for her and it has brightened up the space. This is a pleasant feature to have in our room. It provides soft lighting that supports a calm environment. The 15' cord is great for going across the ceiling and down the wall to an outlet. I think I would prefer a 20' cord, as access to outlets is tricky in my room. However, if you pre-measure the distance from where you want to install this light to the outlet, you will know for sure if this cord length works for you.

this is all you need (besides the bulb) to add a chill vibe to a dark corner. the shade is gorgeous and very well made. love the off-white color and the wire threaded throughout looks so much better than those perfect parallel lines you see in other paper shades. it includes a basic white swag corded lamp kit, though I swapped it out for a beige corded kit with a wood covered socket, for looks. the shade is a perfect addition to my bedroom, hanging over my favorite chair. we added a smart bulb, making it a very expensive "cheap" swag lamp, but the effect is flawless. boho modern that works with most decor. hanging hooks are included, tho we used our own modern "hooks", as well. if you need a quick & easy ceiling light, this is perfect. it'll look good as it is, but looks & functions better with a few tweaks. I'd definitely buy it again. oh...we used the swag light kit & hooks in another room, over a game table, with one of those "parallel line" ugly-ish round paper shades. the shade included with this lamp looks SOOO much better!

Requires you to drill holes in the ceiling, attach hooks. Hooks provided are so much smaller than the anchors they provide. Anchors are too large to fit in hole, hooks are too small to stay in hole. Anchors and hooks do not work together. Instructions are unclear. Now I have holes in my ceiling and an overpriced paper lampshade in the trash.

The paper shade was thick enough to stop any glare from light bulb, yet thin enough to allow adequate light to pass through and light room. It is a nice color of white - better than the photo shown in product description which is more brownish. It has been hanging from a hook in my ceiling for 15 months now and still looks great. The switch on end of cord is in a low convenient spot to reach (unlike other cords I have seen in store and on line. Keep in mind that it is paper so handle gently while assembling and it should serve you well.

I am in absolute love with this lamp. The quality is nice and thick. It looks so high end in the space. It’s light weight with a long cord.

Absolutely love my lamp! Super easy to put together, it's light in weight because it's paper, and it gives off really good light I have a color changing bulb in it and it makes for a pretty cool atmosphere. Def recommend lol
