As someone who frequently hauls oversized items, from recreational gear to building supplies, finding a reliable and easy-to-use truck bed extender was a top priority. I love this extender. It was simple to put together. It's heavy, but it will carry anything I need. Mostly my kayak. The only problem I have is where to store it. fully assembled, it takes up space so for now I just lean it up against my work bench and try not to trip over it. Oh, that "truck accessories" place wanted to change me almost double. This arrived at my door in a well protected Amazon box.

05/06/21 UPDATED: I had cracked the weld on the tube connector in the fall of 2020 and put it in storgae until the spring, my replacement and warranty had ran out but Mockins was incredible with replacing the part. I sent an request through Amazon and received a message back quickly, asking me to call them and they would absolutely support replacing the part - that is AWESOME customer service and I am thankful for a company that has integrity in what they sell to make sur ethier customers are FULLY SATISFIED. I know they didnt have to do this, but they did, in a very pleasant and customercentric manner. Thank you Mockins for being A+ with your products.I shouldn’t take have to use a grinder n anything I buy, whether it’s $60 or $6... the angle section fit had a build up of coating and wouldn’t allow insert into long tube (see picture). I had to. Take a grinder and lap the coating down to the steel a couple times. I trimmed just enough to use a rubber mallet to fit the two sections. While this will be a great joint that won’t rattle, if I didn’t have a grinder, this would have been dropped off at UPS and returned.Aside from the fit Noted above, the rest was fine. It’s he y duty and very sturdy to hold a 12.5 kayak in the back of a Tacoma short bed.

The Mockins bed extender is exactly what we needed!! We are retired and go to Florida for a few months While there we fish out of our kayaks every day that is nice. If you look in the picture the bars up high are where we had to load our kayaks keep in mind they weigh 100lbs each. every time we went out. So it got to the point that we would decide first if we felt like lifting them on and off. We found the Mockins bed extender and thought if it works then it will be a game changer! Well it works!! So much easier to haul back and forth from our camp site to the different places we like to put in. It was easy to put together and once the kayaks are loaded the included ratchet straps wrap around and secure them to the extender. We highly recommend this product !

Why did you pick this product vs others?:The item was delivered promptly and in excellent condition. It took me about 5 minutes to assemble and attach to my truck. This will allow me to carry my canoe back and forth to the pond.Functionality:Attaches to the truck very easily.Ease of assembly:Took about 5 minutes to assemble.Weight:the product is very sturdy and will outlast the ten year warranty…. I bought this setup to haul my canoe above the bed of my pickup. I couldn’t find many examples of people using it this way, so I figured I’d write a review.Fit and StabilityThe rack is solid and gives you plenty of clearance over the bed. It held the canoe securely with no issues at speed. I added a universal roof mount that straps onto the cab and anchors inside the truck. Without it, I would’ve had to use foam blocks on the roof, which would have made tie-downs more of a hassle.On-Road PerformanceThere is a bit of sway when cornering, especially with a longer canoe, but the system includes a hitch support bracket that bolts into your trailer hitch. That simple add-on stiffens the whole setup and really locks everything in place. Once that’s installed, the sway is barely noticeable.Highway DrivingI had no trouble running at full speed. I drove up to 85 miles per hour with the canoe on the rack and had zero shifting or noise. Surprisingly, I also gained 3 miles per gallon. I’m guessing the canoe helped redirect airflow over the cab and bed.Why This Setup WorksIf you don’t have a ladder rack and want to carry a canoe or similar gear from the cab to the tailgate while keeping your bed free, this setup checks all the boxes. It’s sturdy, aerodynamic, and easily reinforced with the included hitch mount.

It will do the job. Used to secure a couple Kayaks. It’s two pieces and the second U shape piece isn’t all that sturdy. I’d prefer it to be more tight. The connection clasps seem cheap to me. They work, and are easy to use, but I expect them to break someday.
