I bought this as a replacement for one that I had purchased from Amazon before. The previous one had more than doubled in price, and this one was less expensive and available with next day delivery. It turns out that this one was not only less expensive, it also feels sturdier, works better (less jamming), and is easier to punch with. I remember the other one being a bit easier to align, but I think that with a little more practice (I've only used it to punch 16 plastic ID cards so far), I will get my alignments more accurate. Overall, I really like this replacement punch.

This hole slot punch has a solid construction, has a sturdy grip on the card as it punches, and makes a clean, smooth slot of standard size (3 x 15mm)! I am a nurse, and got this punch to make my own ID sized medical reminder cards to use with my work badge. Great for arts/crafts too. The packaging advertises it punching through PVC, and it does punch through the thick plastic cards cleanly. The handles are smooth and curved, and feel comfortable in my hand. The only possible downsides I can think of: some may find not enough grip on the handles, as they are very smooth; additionally, the length of the handles may be a bit small for those with larger hands. Overall, I am very impressed and think this product cannot be beat for the price!

exactly as pictured. (1 older review said product was different.) Seller says "not for PVC" yet the box explicitly says it is for PVC cards. It's a medium duty tool, and for the price it's fantastic. It worked perfectly on my approx half-credit-card-thickness pvc badge, leaving an extremely clean hole. There's no tray for the chads and they must have really gone flying because I can't find them. Note that the card opening is quite large and could hold maybe 3 credit cards, or an HID access card, but there isn't enough leverage to punch that thickness. I've only punched 2 cards so I don't know how long the blade stays sharp, but it seems to me it shouldn't wear out quickly.

I actually purchased this for a completely different use than a badge punch. I make greeting cards and wanted to find something that I could use for my 3/8” ribbon to string across my cards and tie a bow in the center. This works great! I punch a slot on one side, and then the opposite side, slide my ribbon through and tie my bows. It’s awesome! I can even punch several slots and weave my ribbon back and forth through the card stock for an even cooler effect.

At work the security office is the ONLY pace in our building (which employs nearly 3000 people) that has a badge punch. I inquired about our dept purchasing one. We have to run downstairs in the catacombs and HOPE that the security secretary is in her office. Then, she gets to supervise us as we hand punch however many badges we need. Sigh, what a pain! The purchase request was declined since the kind we have is over $100 through the office supply place we contract with. Amazon to the rescue... This handy punch is INCREDIBLY sturdy. It punches 3 double laminated badge cards (haven't tried with actual badges but rather info cards like fire safety, frequently used #s etc.) at once & leaves a crisp clean edge. I punched 70 of them quickly with no hand fatigue. The only negative? The silver finish is "speckled" or pitted on one side & at the apex of the hinge movement there was a slight amount of extra silver "paint". This broke off at some point in the punching leaving a tiny spot of bare metal exposed. Regardless, the price is right on this product. It's heavy & durable. 'Nuff said.

I use this to punch holes into my ID badges for my employees. I started with laminated paper for ID badges about a year or 2 ago and this goes through those like butter, so I usually do 2 or 3 at a time and it still works great. This week I switched to the 3 mil PVC cards instead of laminated paper because it looks more professional and really isn't any more expensive. I didn't know if this would work to punch a hole in the PVC cards or not, but to my pleasant surprise, it worked just fine! :) This is a good, high-quality product. :)

The punch arrived very quickly and I tested it out over the weekend. I got this badge hole punch to use as a slot punch for handmade gift tags in order to add ribbon ties to the tags. It is THE PERFECT PUNCH with the perfect hole opening for ribbons. It is a solid tool that has an easy grip and doesn't require an enormous amount of strength to use it. It only has a short 1/4" - 1/2" mouth so you are limited to how far inside the edge of the paper you can go. I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PURCHASE!

Works great! Although you do have to put some "muscle power" into punching through a plastic swipe card. It is very sturdy and worth what we paid for it (it will be punching 100s of cards).
