Nice looking works very well!
Rewriting whole review because I broke one my own rules.. Never review a product until you use it. First, I love the rustic but refined look. This burner is quite nice! It looks good and is purpose built. The top is of course vented, with a small piano hinge allowing access to the inside. It stays closed by a small brad nail that fits into a corresponding hole. The "latch" system works surprisingly well and is hidden when closed and nonintrusive when opened. It's so seamless that I have to look for the hinge to see where it opens. I may please a dot of paint on it to mark the front. The bottom, or base, is hollow with vent holes like the top, allowing air to get in. The steel bowl on the inside inside is attached to the base. I didnt like this at first glance but quickly realised it safe and secure when moving the burner. I use fast light coal pucks but never light them inside. I take the burner outside for a couple of minutes after lighting them to keep the fumes out. (Fast light coals give off nasty smoke when fist lit.) The bowl is slightly raised and is not attached all the way around. Meaning there are gaps in the material that attaches the bowl to the base. This is hugely important because of covection. The heat allows air to flow in thru the bottom and rise up around the bowl and out of the top. This airflow keeps the coal burning and carries the fragrance up and out. The bowl comfortably accommodates puck type of coals and square coals. This burner is awesome and very highly recommended.

This is a beautiful way to use incense cones. We love it.
We read the reviews and were a bit nervous about the actual build of the burner, but it came and we are so delighted. It is a little top heavy, but knowing that, I am just careful with it when I use it. It's perfect for burning the incense cones and easy to clean. I put it at the top of my book/plant shelf and it gives out fragrance throughout my front room.

Great product for the price
Works well. It’s not too small like you expect it to be. Pretty well made. Works well with backflow cones. The metal tray does come out but extremely difficult to remove. Don’t think it’s meant to be taken our repeatedly.

Price good, needs a mod
An incense cone will not get enough combustion air with lid down and the cone will extinguish, so I drilled some holes in the steel plate, now it works GREAT. There are holes around the wood base, so I don’t know why there were not vent holes in the pan to get air into the burn chamber with the lid down. I guess you can use “as is” if you burn with it open- but that kinda defeats the purpose of all the holes in the lid. A few holes do the trick!

Ok if you're looking for something inexpensive
It's cute and inexpensive, but you get what you paid for. The biggest drawback is it needs more weight in the bottom so it doesn't fall over when the lid is fully raised, which is why I only gave it 3 stars.

Very Nice Incense Holder
Nice little cone incense holder. It works very well with all of the air holes. Nice looking wood and a good idea to have the pin in the middle to keep the top of the holder straight.

Not great
Poor design. Tips over when open, but not enough airflow to keep the cone lit when it’s closed.
