A treasure trove of music!
There are a lot of ukulele books that are absolute garbage. This is NOT one of those! Do yourself a favor and buy this book. It is full of very playable songs that are well thought out for ukulele fingering. You could spend a full year learning great classical songs. I see there is a volume two as well and I will definitely buy that in the future. Until then I’ve got a treasure trove of music to enjoy with this book.

An Excellent & Comprehensive Book!
Thank you to Jeff Peterson for arranging/compiling/writing this outstanding and comprehensive/sequential book for learning classical ukulele. Beginners, all the way through advanced students will have an amazing amount of material to help learn to play the ukulele, well. This book is so well thought out and a person of Jeff's standing in the music world, has brought a level of understanding and thought process within grasp of anyone, seriously trying to learn the ukulele. He leaves no stone unturned. As a public school instrumental music teacher of more than 30 years, I truly appreciate the systematic approach he has taken. This ranks right up there with Arban's Cornet/Trumpet Method in its approach, method and comprehensive quality. It was disappointing to read one, very poorly written and crass review of this book. Of course, it says nothing about Jeff's book, but says everything about the reviewer. Working with an excellent and qualified teacher (such as Jeff) would always be the preferred/effective way to learn, but if that is not possible, then this book will be of great value. Another option is to sign up/become a member of The Ukulele Corner, where you will have access to hundreds of pieces of music, videos of Jeff playing and video lessons of every single technique to work on, addressing both your right and left hand techniques and every possible area on the ukulele. Jeff is my ukulele teacher and having been a student of the piano, French horn, and most recently ukulele, since I was 7 years old, I can safely say that Jeff, both in his understanding and caring is one of the finest teachers I have ever had. I highly recommend this book and have recommended it to several of my adult ukulele students.

Will there be a Volume 2?
I love love love this book and have recommended it to dozens of other players. It’s inspired me, encouraged me, kept me going, and kept me enthusiastic. It’s described as Volume 1, and I look forward longingly to a Volume 2. Can anybody offer any information about when we can expect the next volume?

Maybe worth seeking out the spiral bound edition
Great book, just note that this is a glued binding on thinner than usual paper. Always nice to have music spiral bound.

Great, progressive approach to fingerstyle technique
I love the fact that this book takes the learner from easy pieces of music to progressively more complex pieces. Well done! The selections are very good, and provide a foundation for learning and knowing where you are in your fingerstyle journey. That said, the only reason I did not give it 5 stars, is the book would have been much more useful if finger placement notation had been included in all songs. One of the key points in learning fingerstyle techniques is to learn how to efficiently move up and down the fretboard in a way that facilitates your ability to play faster and more complex pieces. This is one of the things my teacher has helped me improve greatly, and now when I learn a new piece of music, I am much more aware of how to approach playing it. This book could have provided this insight for each piece of music and been much more helpful to those without a teacher. Maybe in the next edition.... Aside from this, I do highly recommend this book for those wanting to study fingerstyle techniques

Great arrangements and something for everyone
I am loving this book! The arrangements are very well-thought out and sound beautiful on the ukulele. But what I love most about the book is the grading system: all of the pieces are categorized, based on level of difficulty, from grade 1-8. This means that there’s something for everyone, and even the grade level 1 pieces sound great on the uke.By purchasing this book, you also get access to recordings of all of the pieces performed by none other than Jeff Peterson himself. The recordings are beautiful and really showcase what this little instrument is capable of. At 171 pages, I’ll be learning from and enjoying this book for many years to come. Thank you Jeff and Simon for making this tremendous resource available to those of us that want to do more with the ukulele than just strum chords.

All the old familiars
I love this book! I played the cello in secondary school, so I appreciate that I already know what most of the pieces in this book should sound like. That lets me concentrate on learning ukulele techniques. There is something challenging in each piece. I highly recommend taking your time and not rushing on to the next piece before you've mastered both hands. These pieces will sound good long before you have mastered the new technique that each one is presenting, so slow down and be thorough.

Lots of Great Music
This book has lots of great music. I am extremely happy with my purchase. The explanations about each piece are interesting. The way Jeff organized the songs from easy to difficult using grades is very helpful. Also, the tablature is perfect for beginners like me. I am enjoying this book and I think you will, too. I highly recommend this book for all ukulele players.
