Surya Brasil Light Brown Natural Henna Cream Hair Color Treatment for Gray Hair Coverage, Deep Conditioning Semi Permanent Hair Dye, 2.37 oz / 70 ml

I’ve ordered 8 bottles over the past 2 years, so that probably says enough on its own. I have fine, low-density hair, and one bottle easily lasts me two full colorings, which makes it pretty cost-effective for me. I do have a lot of gray, and I’m very happy with the coverage. The color looks natural, not flat or fake, and it blends well as it grows out. After applying, I use an electric heat cap for deep conditioning (also from Amazon). That step makes a big difference - the henna penetrates better, the hair feels softer, and I don’t end up staining my pillowcase afterward. I do have to mention the packaging - it’s… dramatic. The artwork looks more like the cover of a steamy historical romance than a box of hair dye. It’s a little over the top and feels oddly sensual for something meant to cover gray roots, but thankfully the product inside is excellent, which is what really matters.

In 2017 I decided to take a break from the chemicals I’d been putting on my head every few weeks for 20+ years. Scary but freeing! Though I didn’t hate my silver I was longing for some color again. I tried traditional henna in the 90s and liked the results but didn’t love the process, still I thought I’d be willing to try it again to avoid chemicals. Then I found this. So easy! Washed my hair with a clarifying shampoo, applied the cream to damp hair, covered, rinsed an hour later and freaked out a little at how well my hair, gray and all, soaked up the color. Originally I planned to choose a lighter shade but thought my hair might not take the color. It turned out just as the color chart suggested. BEST HAIR COLOUR EVER!!! I want to give it 10 🌟! I have been colouring my hair for over 20 years-I have had my hair done by professionals who did Elizabeth Taylor's hair to doing it myself at home. Surya is the top of the line-by a mile. Whoever gave the product less than 5 stars is a liar. Henna is a natural product, and CANNOT make you hair fall out. I have tried henna before- just didn't care for mixing it up and the smell. With Surya there is NO smell and NO mixing. It made my hair softer and it looks 10X healthier. I am about 40% grey with dark red/brown hair. I ordered light brown and it COMPLETE COVERED ALL GRAY! I look like I just walked out of Elizabeth Arden Spa with a $500.00 hair haighlight and colour job. Just vibrant colour that is luscious and touchable! Thank you Surya- you have a life-time customer! I started using this after I was diagnosed with cancer. I wanted to limit the chemicals I was exposed to, so I stopped going to a salon to get my hair dyed and I haven't been back since. This product is really easy to use, my hair is actually getting healthier & growing faster without damage, and I'm more at ease knowing I'm not exposing myself to harsh chemicals. It's not perfect. It doesn't totally darken my grey hairs but creates a lighter, more natural looking color that fades gradually into blonde before it wears off. As with other suggestions, wash hair first with a clarifying shampoo, apply the dye to wet hair, keep on for 1.5 hours with a plastic cap on (I usually put a warm skull cap on over that), then rinse out and condition. I usually have to re-apply every 4 weeks. I don't mind the frequency though b/c it's the best low chemical solution I've found and my hair is healthier too.

Excellent no hassle product. Easy to use

I used to use henna regularly but got tired of the mess of applying it and how long the process took from beginning to end. I have tried Madison Reed and liked its ease but didn't like how it rinsed out and stained everything for about 4 days after applying it. I thought I would give this a try because it seemed like a good in between of both of these processes. I really liked how easy it was to apply. No mixing or waiting, just open the bottle and apply. I also liked the dark brown it produced that was close to black but definitely wasn't blue-black. I used a shampoo designed to remove all build up, toweled dry and applied when my hair was damp but not too wet. I let it sit on my hair for just over 4 hours. I rinsed and only used conditioner, no shampoo. I had to blow dry it so I could go to bed without wet hair. I braided it and didn't wash or wet it for at least 24 hours. I washed with the recommended shampoo and conditioner. I could see a lot of color rinse out. It colored my towel and even with dry hair some came off on my pillowcase. I didn't wash my hair every day, but every time I did color rinsed out and colored my towel. This happened for just over a week. My grays are now showing just over a week after application. For the time spent this was not worth it. The color lasted for just about a week. It was constantly rinsing out and coloring towels. (It did wash out of the towel and pillowcase.)

I’m so happy with this henna cream! It completely covered my grays and left my hair feeling soft and healthy. I also felt safe using it while pregnant, which gave me so much peace of mind. The color looks natural and the conditioning effect is a big bonus. I’ll definitely keep using this product!
