DC18RC 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Rapid Optimum Charger

Charged my new Makita LXFD01 Drill Battery right up! Easy to use right of the box, my battery fit right on it, and performs great. Only thing to mention is that this charger has a built-in cooling fan, so it does have a little sound when it's plugged in and charging a battery... given that I'd make sure this charger is on a relatively flat surface with good ventilation around it to make sure it doesn't overheat. But besides that, a great Makita product!

Great charger. Charges fast and you can set it to beep or not when it's done. Cools itself and has smart algorithms. **BE AWARE that this "****RC" charger is the one you'll need if you have the newer 1840 and 1850 Makita batteries. You can't use the -RA version to charge these higher amp hour batteries. So, if you are happy with the 3Ah batteries there is no need to purchase this charger, just get more 3Ah's (they are inexpensive compared to the past, and you can find OEM versions on Amazon that are just fine) and use your old -RA charger. This one WILL charge the older batteries, however, and a little faster, so get it versus the **RA if you have to buy a charger. ** ALSO - you need to really push the batteries onto the charger and verify they are seated fully. Otherwise you get a solid red, then a flashing green light combo and you'll be scratching your head wondering why it isn't working. Just push hard and pull it to confirm.

I love this item, I would buy again, High Quality, I have paid a fair price.

got a Makita battery charger to keep my Makita Li-ion tool batteries topped up — specifically the DC18SD standard charger (basic model) and I’ve compared it with the DC18RC rapid charger from how others describe it.
