Hongdian Fountain Pen Fine Nib Black Forest Series Classic Design Signature Collection with Converter and Pen Case Set

Based on the price, I wasn’t expecting much but the Hongdian Black Forest fountain pen is impressive. It looks slick and more expensive than it is. It feels solid but not too heavy, I used it last night for about an hour and experienced no discomfort. I filled the converter with Parker Quink ink (does not takes cartridges- I checked a few) and have to say the most impressive thing was that it worked straight away! It did not need time to start flowing or to be “run in”.

The number of good reviews tell a true story. This is a great fountain pen (fine nib) and I have expensive Lamy and Sheaffer too, this honestly compares very well. The weight balance is good, it writes extremely well - if you’re still not sure, there are actually YouTube reviews out there too that sing this pen’s praises!

I am really pleased with this pen. I'd had a bad experience trying a cheaper pen from a different company, and also a disappointing experience with a LAMY Safari that turned out to be super scratchy. This pen writes SO much better! The smoothness of the nib & the consistency of the flow from this are what I was hoping for when I decided to buy a fountain pen. My only slight issue is that, the way I personally hold a pen, the ridge to the main body of the pen digs into my hand slightly, so I don't think it would be super comfortable for me to write with for long periods. But the performance makes me want to keep picking it up to scribble something with it. It has a satisfying weight to it & a nice presentation box. All in all, a nice pen.

I was a little hesitant when I was about to order this pen because I never heard about this company and so it was a bit of a gamble. Turned out to be the best pen I currently own! It is sturdy, its colors do not seem to fade, it has very smooth writing (fine nib), it comes with a converter. I am also the owner of a couple of Faber Castells, a Basic (fine) and a Neo Slim (fine). The first one was my favorite so far, with a very good quality nib and smooth writing, although some parts of it felt a bit "cheap" (especially the cap). Neo slim suffered from a non-airtight cap, so I never really got to use it since the ink was quickly drying. This baby, the Black Forest, is built like a tank, writes as smoothly as the FB Basic, and the cap is a snag fit, so no drying issues. I could not recommend this pen enough.

What's not to like? This pen is lovely a absolute gem of a find. It's become my daily driver for work at the moment and will become one of my go to pens for the coming months. It looks like a pen 3x the price but and a small but it looks like it can be damaged easily which would be a shame as the stealth black look is just wow. It has a good weight to it and looks great posted if a little bit to long. The lid as a very satisfying click when not in use. Super happy with the purchase.

Solid black pen in grey box. Looks good. Metal body. Medium nib. Excellent for writing. Consistent line. Reliable. Perhaps overly so, for drawing. Gives a firm black line - little variation. That may change as ink runs out. Overall, a good pen. Recommended.

I had high hopes for this pen after reading the reviews and loved the fact it comes with a refillable cartridge. I was very impressed with it overall for the first use, writes nicely, looks good, has a good weight to it. But after filling the cartridge for about the third time it’s done nothing but leak everywhere. The cartridge has leaked inside the pen and it then runs out all over my hands as I write, leaving blots on my skins and paper. I’ve taken it apart, washed it all out, put it back, refilled and the problem persists.

I'm really happy with this pen. It's well weighted and feels good in the hand. The ink flow is excellent although the fine nib can be a little scratchy at times. Nothing too bad and most fine nibs I've owned do the same thing so maybe it's my writing style. Most of all I love the "industrial" look of the pen. The machined gnurling is great and the matte black finish looks wonderfully unpretentious.

A caneta é linda e tem acabamento impecável! Vem com conversor de tinta, mas estou usando cartuchos que tinha da Pelikan e funcionam perfeitamente. Aliás, dá pra deixar um cartucho extra dentro da caneta pra não passar apertado! Muito bom! Comprei com pena FINA e a escrita é MUITO mais macia que uma CROWN média que possuo. Quase não se percebe raspar sobre o papel!! E a escrita não falha! Só elogios!!! Inclsuive quanto ao prazo de entrega: prometido para o dia 17/4 e recebido 11/4 (retirei no Correios). A entrega do CORREIOS é sofrível! Moro em apartamento e o(s) carteiro(s) que nos atende(m) não espera(m) pra entregar materiais que precisam de assinatura! Já reclamei e eles dizem que não têm obrigação de esperar alguém descer e vão embora! O caso aqui está tão complicado que olhei as gravações das câmeras e o carteiro sequer chamou no interfone, simplesmente inseriu as cartas na caixa e foi embora. É de longe o pior serviço de logística de entrega!

Finished are good, it is metal painted, not plastic, and the writing is very nice and fluent, very good for the price, totally recommend.

I had some doubts about this pen since it’s a Chinese brand and there are too many that I don’t know and never heard of, but the product is amazing. The body weights in a way that feels like a high quality pen and the way it flows in the paper is amazing. Highly recommended.
