Mazda Gear Oil - 0000-77-SG1-QT

My local dealer is having issues with it's parts department but Amazon had me covered. Genuine Mazda SG1

I use this oil for my 2022 Mazda CX-5 for the differential and transfer case. It's the manufacture's recommendation. The dealerships will charge you over $50. Buy your own and bring it in.

OEM works best, changed the fluid on my ‘16 CX5 front and rear at 60k miles. Probably could have gotten away with just doing the front but it was easy enough.

This should be the ONLY fluid one should put in front crank-case and rear differential of Mazda CX5. Replacing it at 60,000 and see the earlier replacement is still quite clear. Impressive. Immediately noticed the car accelerating and moving better - quieter actually. Front is .48 quarts and rear's .75 quarts. Need thus 2 bottles. Pretty expensive though. The factory always fill it below the fill line but when replacing fill it till the fill line. The washers match ATF drain in bolt size and washer

Remarkable how much quieter my limited slip differential is after swapping the fluid (right at the service interval); frankly if your car still has the factory diff oil in it just swap it, you won’t regret it and just need the one bottle.

When it comes to gears in the transfer case or differential I feel a little better using an OEM gear oil even if I have to spend an extra $15 over another brand. It looks and smells like gear oil. Car seems to line it.
