It’s worth the $20 easily. It’s so helpful and user friendly. I didn’t know where to start with Strength Training and I had signed up for a magazine subscription through Women’s Health and they offered this book in their store. So I looked it up on Amazon and there it was, free shipping and got it the next day. This has made me fall in love with strength training. I’m not bored and I know what to do. At the back of the book is an index with full pages for each workout if you need more details about form etc. I take it to the gym with me, fits perfect in my gym bag. I’ve already been using the book for 2 weeks now and I can not only feel a difference in my muscles but I can see one too. If you’re stuck in a rut, if you need something new, if you don’t know what you’re doing and too nervous to use machines at the gym, if you’re current workout routine isn’t getting you anywhere, THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU. I now feel like strength training is my new hobby and I’m telling everyone about this book. It’s easy to follow, not complicated or filled with BS, it’s also not trying to sell you products. I love that I can have a physical copy. I’m not the biggest fan of digital books. I’m telling everyone about this book and I can’t say enough good things about it. 10/10 highly recommend!

Easy to follow, but challenging
I decided to give this a try based on a friend's post on Facebook. I tend to favor e-books and apps, but this really spoke to me. Some of these books are kind of fluffy and won't get you anywhere. This is a good resource for those who want a compact, home routine. You can assemble a decent workout fairly easily with minimal equipment. I also felt that the exercises weren't too extreme, as in I didn't want to be visiting my ortho or PT in the near future.

Some required equipment is not something I have at home
I like the exercise ideas but I don’t have everything at home that I need so I may need to look up something similar I can do for this exercises. I like how it tells me how to do each one correctly and allows a log for me too.

Good
Overall it is a great start for someone new or someone who wants to pick up a few ideas.

Nice guide
When this arrived, I thought it was small for the price, but ended up very pleased with it. Nice large photos for each exercise. Clear instructions for individual exercises and routines. I recommend spending the extra for the spiral binding so it lays nice and flat when trying to exercise and read it!

No for beginners
I bought this after seeing it on another site. Women’s Hearth touted as a program using hand weights and body weight. Most are? NOT ALL. See images. There are zero modifications for beginners. In good shape? This will work. Beginner? Don’t bother.

Great workout plan
I'm just getting into weightlifting and have been really enjoying this workout plan. The exercises have clear explanations and helpful photos. I particularly like the way the workouts are structured. The worksheets to keep track of weight and reps are nice as well. Highly recommend.

Nice workout plan with journal
I bought this after I ditched a super expensive personal trainer. Wow, I wish I would’ve found this beforehand. The pictures and descriptions of the workouts are good. If you need some further clarity then a quick online YouTube search will pull up a video if you need it. I don’t go to the gym exclusively so this is a 1-2 days a week with other workouts like running and yoga a few times a week as well. It’s to help me work different areas and minimize running injuries. I’ve been injured twice in the last year. I’m getting too old to run exclusively and needed to vary my workouts that I do 4-5 days a week. The workouts can be adapted to use any weights you’d like to use and you can make notes in the log so you can repeat or increase the next time you do the workout plan. I’ve only done the first phase, but I love it. I some times add on 1-2 more exercises to make it a bit longer. It’s a shorter workout plan. But I imagine the later phases will increase in intensity. The book clearly states the items you need either in your home gym or in a community gym. I go to a gym and I bring this slender book with me and review it and make notes. It’s a keeper! I hope this fitness guru makes more workout books because I really like it.
