Very effective tach with several feet of reflective tape included in the kit.
I put a tiny bit of reflective tape on one blade of my wood stove fan and set it on the stove. Got Varioui legitimate readings at Various temperatures in the operating range of the fan. I've tried this on several devices and never got a reading that was outrageous like 50,000 rpms. Have to assume it's pretty accurate. It comes in a cardboard box that shows the 2 color options available. Inside that is a small black nylon padded pouch for carrying and storage. It even has a belt loop. Does anyone feel the need to quick draw atach and wear it on a belt out there? No? Me either, but you can with this. Lol this is a great tool at a great price.

After trying two other Laser RPM models from other manufacturers, I finally got one that works! Bright LED; easy to use and a good price and delivery.

Bad performance
The product will not hold on an rpm. I needed to adjust the new tachs on my engines and it would not hold a steady rpm reading. It fluctuated continuously from 1100 to 2850 when trying to read a 1500 rpm. At idle which is known to be 650 it fluctuated from 500 to 1200 and never held steady. A Piece of junk.

Decent easy-to-use tool, only downside is fast auto-off
I bought this to calibrate a tachometer on a boat, and it worked great! The laser comes with some reflective strips that you stick on the gear / pulley / item to be measured. I bought a few extra strips in case I want to measure other stuff in the future. The only complaint I had was that the gun auto powers off after a few seconds, so if you're taking your time and measuring various speeds, you'll have to turn it back on again. If not for that mild annoyance I would give it 5 stars.

IT does it's job, but not as good as a professional name brand one.
It works, but you need to be precise in your angle for reading RPM. Not as user friendly as the professional ones, But it is inexpensive, and works fine for a tool that isn't used very often.

I cut them up into smaller pieces for my purposes, of note in use, a "shiny" surface under them is not good, the best is a non reflective surface to place these on, I wrapped the shaft with some electrical tape first then put the sticker on it, then it worked!
