are the bristles plastic?

Yes the bristles are plastic very cheaply made brush it broke the second time I used it

is this a good brush for thick hair? is the brush good for any length of hair?

I believe this brush is really good for thick hair. My natural hair gets very tangled and its easy for me to brush it when its wet. I don't brush too hard but it gets the job done. My normal hair is short and I have weave in right now. It works pretty good for both length. That's my opinion though. I hope this helped.
