They work!
These work and have been a lifesaver for my wife! She has Type 1 Diabetes and many times has been served regular soda. She keeps the strips in her purse and when she got a fountain drink that was supposed to be diet but tasted funny to her she tested it. Right away it came back that it was regular soda. This saved her a headache with her blood sugar later and we were able to let the gas station know and they did have regular soda hooked up to the diet. It does happen unfortunately. This is worth the money for our peace of mind.

Lifesaver for diabetics
Husband is T1D and it is hard to tell with these zero drinks now being served at many restaurants over diet drinks. These are a true lifesaver to be able to know for sure that he is being served a drink without sugar. Works in seconds and are easy to discretely use to give us peace of mind.

Don't hesitate to buy. These are a life saver
Our youngest son recently aquired type1. We recently had a issue where we could not tell if our son's drink was regular or a "zero". Usually you can tell pretty easy, but this time was a little harder for what ever reason. After the headache of insuring it was the correct drink. We thought there had to be a better way. Naturally water is the best way, but for this situation specifically. So after a little digging, we came across DIET DETECTOR. After we received our order we went to testing the strips to insure accuracy and they worked flawlessly. This is great cheap insurance to have. We can't afford a mixup

Love these as a T1D!
Peace of mind when dining out that my blood sugar will not spike unexpectedly due to not getting what I ordered. Always in my purse now!

These are a genuine life saver!
Luckily it took me a while to just 100% confirm these worked- I got lucky and restaurants listened to me- but when tested against soda I knew was not diet, it quickly changed color. It changes color pretty fast, it takes maybe 45 seconds to become fully brown, but I 100% trust these! I’ve been type 1 diabetic for 13 years but sometimes I just need confirmation. The bottle is really compact too and easy to carry around. These are great!

Great Product!
This is a great option to use to confirm if a soda you order is actually diet or not. This is especially helpful for diabetics or those with other health issues. The container is the perfect size to keep in a pocket or purse and has the result chart right on the bottle. We used it to test a Coke Zero (cup pics) and a regular Coke and both times worked as expected. Recommend this product!

The answer to my prayers. (Specifically detects GLUCOSE!!)
I often found myself dumping full sodas that I had paid for because they "didn't taste right" and I didn't want to risk it; I am not diabetic but am trying to keep my calorie intake reasonable for my size and a large soda would be several hundreds of calories difference if given normal vs. diet. These are wonderful, and I love that you get two separate tubes of strips in each box so I can keep one in my car for drive-through trips and one at home for delivery foods! I do wish the strips and their case were a bit shorter; they don't need to be as long as they are which is wasting material + making the strips take up more space than needed. If they were shorter they could fit in a pill-case keychain which would be great! I would just trim my strips and put in a different case, but I'm not sure if the materials in my pill-case (metal of some sort) would interfere with the strips' accuracy, so I don't. Just the smallest of gripes and not a big deal, though. The strips are wonderful and I'll be buying these for the rest of my life I'm sure! NOTE: The manufacturer has a notice above that talks about how these work; they detect high fructose corn syrup which is the typical sweetener used in non-diet drinks. It MAY NOT WORK on sodas sweetened with other sugars. I'm a dietitian and the basics are that "sugar" can be many compounds. "Table sugar" like you might mix to "test" these strips is 50% glucose, 50% fructose, and that molecule is bound together chemically. Thus, when it is in water in a cup, it is *still* sucrose, not glucose + fructose separately. It is not until after consumed that your digestive enzymes break that bond and turn the sucrose into glucose + fructose separately. Sodas in the US are typically flavored with HFCS, high fructose corn syrup. HFCS has different formulations, but in soda it is usually 55% fructose to 45% glucose. However, unlike in table sugar, this fructose and glucose have already had the molecules broken apart and is actually in solution as fructose and glucose before being consumed. These strips detect *GLUCOSE*, not sucrose (table sugar), fructose (fruit sugar), etc. Thus if you try to "test" these with a mixture of table sugar or juice you may find they are giving negatives because they are detecting unbound glucose. I have tested this myself since I happen to be a researcher in a nutrition lab which studies the effect of different sugars, so I have them all separate in bags. You can see in my images that I have made mixtures of water+dextrose (another name for glucose), water+fructose, and a diet soda. The only strip that had a positive was the dextrose (glucose) strip. And so if your drink has unbound glucose (such as in HFCS or pure glucose) it will detect it, but it may fail to detect other sweeteners with bound glucose.

I can't believe I had not heard of these before! They are amazing. I have been mistakenly given sugary soft drinks many times, mostly because the staff members did not pay attention when I would ask for sugar free drinks. I carry these test strips in my bag and I always feel safe when ordering non bottled drinks.

I am in the Dominican and asked for a Diet Coke, they brought me a pop I tasted it and said this doesn’t taste like diet so I tried a strip and it turned the dark colour. Called the server back and said this isn’t diet, I am type 1 dietetic I need diet it’s not a joke so she took it and brought me another pop, said this is diet so I tried a other strip and it turned light blue!! Tasted it and it tasted like diet I was amazed!! These are amazing for travelling especially

These strips give you the confidence that the sugar free drink you’ve ordered is actually sugar free and hasn’t mistakenly been substituted by a high sugar drink. Vital for a diabetic eating and drinking out. Saved me on the first week of use. Highly recommended.

These test strips work great for T1D’s to let us know if the drink we order when at a restaurant is truly sugar free. So far I have detected one drink that was not sugar free and it was exchanged for a sugar free
