I purchased three of these masks for my family during this summer's wildfire season, which unfortunately continues to burn only 8 miles away from my home. These 3M Half Face-piece Reusable Respirator Assemblies make the smoke bearable. The fit is snug, but not tight and can be adjusted to fit different face sizes. The feel of the mask becomes more comfortable over time than surgical-type masks, which tend to lack suitable air exchange which holds in vapor (ie: sweat). The filters which are pictured on the side of the respirator (pink in the picture, but we received blue ones with our masks), are easy to attach to the mask. You will need to purchase new filters as these get soiled, but the price is reasonable. Notches on the respirator correspond with those on the filters and it's a matter of lining them up and twisting them on. The connection is very secure and the filters do a great job. These respirators are superior to the basic paper face masks, and obviously work well enough to be used in multiple situations, for multiple uses. I would recommend these masks to anyone who needs a step above the basic filtration that a 3M 1860S Particulate Respirator and Surgical Mask, Small, Box of 20 provides. People with asthma, COPD, the elderly, children and those with autoimmune diseases would benefit from using this mask in smokey conditions. Under normal circumstances, those who are into crafting and woodworking, using sanders, paints, and varnishes, would also find this respirator assembly a helpful safety basic. These masks do come in sizes (S,M,LG). I purchased 3 of the medium size, and it seems to fit everyone (all average sized 5'4-5'10, average weight), just fine. I highly recommend this quality 3M product.

I’m a person who wears glasses and it’s been difficult to find a mask that fits well and does not fog up my lenses. Even products that boast being anti-fog don’t work … for me anyway. But this dust mask is awesome! I enjoy working with wood, especially wood sculpture, and the sanding/finishing process requires intricate sanding with my face close to the piece. In the past I’ve often left my studio coughing and sneezing after a day’s work. NO MORE! This mask fits well and is easy to put on and take off. The filters are a breeze to install and highly effective capturing any kind of particulate that might be floating around my studio. The replacement filters are reasonably priced although I haven’t needed to change them over the past month or so. I learned about this product while watching a YouTube channel/program that suggested it. I am obviously very pleased with this product and recommend it highly.

This saved my wood working career. I have worked with wood for 40 years, never had a problem, never wore a mask. I began turning with the lathe and almost ended up in the emergency room- luckily I had a nebulizer for the kids at home. The exotic woods are very hard on the respiratory system and you must protect yourself. I now own four of these (one for each of my kids and a traveling one). The mask is reasonably comfortable, it fits over your head with two loops of the plastic strap. I have a small hat size and it fits me fine. It is light weight. It can get a little warm after several hours. I find that I don't like wearing it more then 4 hours straight. Once adjusted I haven't had to adjust it again. My glasses fit fine under the straps and if I'm using safety goggles they strap over the mask and I haven't had a problem. I've been using it over a year and have not had to change the filters. The outside gets dirty and I wipe them off with a damp cloth- you can't get the filters wet. The filters twist on easily and twist off when I wash the whole mask in water. I now use an air filtration system in the shop but used this by itself and never had another problem breathing.

These are great replacement brushes. We go through a lot of vacuum brushes because we are in the duct cleaning business. They are great for anyone who uses vacuums as part of their business and goes through a lot of them. I like that they come in a pack of four and that they are sent in a box so they store well on the shelf. I’d like to be organized..

I've been fitted for a respirator at work, but wanted to use this as an accessory for my Jesse Pinkman (from "Breaking Bad") costume for Halloween. I can't obviously take supplies from work, so I had to buy my own someplace, and as usual, Amazon had the item I needed at a great price with Prime shipping! This mask requires you to install the pink filters separately, which is quite easy to do. Just push and twist a quarter-turn. Then you adjust the straps so it fits on your face snugly. The particulate filters that come with this mask are only rated for keeping out dust and other airborne debris. Further on that point-CHECK THE FILTER: these filters will NOT keep out organic vapors (like paint fumes), you will need to get the canister style filters, and be very certain you know how to fit this mask properly at that point. A good fit test is to put your hands over the filters firmly and breathe in: if the mask "sucks in" around your mouth and nose, you likely have a good seal. If you can feel/hear air coming in around the mask, you do NOT have a good seal and you'll still be breathing whatever contaminant is in the environment. As for the sizing: I'm a man, 5'9" and 180 lbs, but my face is fairly narrow, so this size worked for me. If you have a larger/fuller face, you would probably need the Large, and if you're very petite/slight built you would want to try the Small. Note that the packaging is not resealable, so once you've bought it, it's yours!

Initially I thought that a cloth mask would be good enough protection, and that's what I bought first. I believe the cloth mask worked well and I was happy creating my first things in wood. A few toys (tools) later, and after reading some more about the subject I realized that for about the same price this mask would be a better option than the cloth mask as it would guarantee blocking 99.97% of the fine particles. Who knows exactly how much the cloth mask blocks? So I decided to buy this mask. Knowing that this mask is produced by a reputable company, that it is NIOSH approved and that the air that flows into my lungs has to first go through the 2091 P100 filters gives me complete peace of mind. Now I can continue with my woodworking without concerns about my lungs. After having used it many times for long periods I realized that this mask has other significant advantages over the cloth mask: My goggles don't fog like they used to when using the cloth mask and breathing is also easier. One difficulty I had when deciding for this purchase was the correct size for me. The recommendation is to fit different sizes in the store. I ended up choosing the medium size and I'm happy with it. It fits well and there's no air leak between the mask and my face. I'm 5' 11'', but YMMV.
