Awesome Sword!
First, I would like to say that I dont know what other people have gotten, but this was exactly as described, the United Cutlery Glamdring sword. It is an excellent replica and amazing collectors item. Edit: Purchased this one from Jalic, Inc. This is a beautifully crafted replica of Galdalf's Glamdring sword. This particular version is the one used in the Hobbit and not the Lord of the Rings, though I don't know that there is really any difference. The blade is well crafted, perfectly straight, with no flaws and a wonderful brushed steal finish. The crossbar is also metal and engraved perfectly with the ruins shown in the movie. The Hilt is nicely weighted and wrapped in a leather, or faux-leather material around the hand grip. The entire sword has a good weight (around 8lbs.) and feels like an authentic medieval style sword (there is no way Ian McKellen was swinging this thing around in the LoTR movies one handed). I do not know for certain if the blade tongue runs all the way to the base of the hilt, but they are connected solidly and there is no movement between the hilt and blade. The sword that I received came in the authentic United Cutlery Hobbit packaging and included the full certificate of authenticity (see pictures). The only gripe I have is that during shipping the very tip of the sword became slightly bent. There is a small piece of rosin in the box that is supposed to protect the tip during shipment but it appears that the way it was transported still caused it to bend a bit. A testament to the quality metal used in construction it took a pair of pliers and a firm hand to re-adjust it. However, there was no lasting damage and unless you used a magnifying you could never tell. The base of the blade is imprinted with the authenticity seal with the United Cutlery registration number. !CAUTION! While the sword blade is blunted the tip of the sword is EXTREMELY sharp. This is NOT a toy and could easily cause serious bodily harm. Other notes: I don't know what the other people who ordered this product got, but what I received is the genuine article. Honestly I don't believe it's fair to downgrade an item because someone was shipping a knock off product.

Good Looking and well built.
As soon as I opened the outer box and saw that the sword was double boxed and it was in the original packaging with Gandalf's picture and LOTR logo I knew I had the real deal. I opened the inner box to find a beautiful and well made sword. Very heavy and strong, beautiful and well crafted. Had a beautifully tight stiched dark blue leather handle and a beautiful pommel and hand gaurd. The sword is long and has nice elven indented writing on it ( not silk screened). It had a very nice display plaque with all the hardware included and a certificate of authenticity. I am very pleased with this purchase as I also got it for a very good price, This is the second sword I have purchased from LOTR collection ( I bought Sting) and I was just as pleased with it as I am with Glamdring. I am ready to take down the Balrog. I am now going to try and collect as many Hobbit and LOTR swords as there are being offerred.

Wizard!
This is my fifth United Cutlery LOTR replica and they haven’t disappointed me yet. The craftsmanship is excellent and the sword is beautiful! It’s nice and hefty when you hold it and looks great on the wall with the included plaque.

Great purchase!
I purchased this for my husband for our wedding day. He always joked about a “wedding sword” so I thought it would be fun to order him one! We bonded over our love of lord of the rings so Gandalfs made sense. It came packaged really well, he was so surprised- I mean look at the joy on his face! The sword is actually bigger than we both imagined. It is dull but the tip is sharp. Great replica, he says it’s perfect!

Must have for your LOTR collection
This was a gift for my husband who had commented at one point that he'd like another LOTR sword to add to his collection and since he just got a new job, I figured it would be a perfect time. He was excited and surprised when he opened up the box. The quality of Glamdring, like his last sword Anduril (also from United Cutlery) was superb. It is a beautiful replica and feels durable (has that wonderful heft to it). He can fit both hands on the hilt but can wield it with one hand so I'm not exactly sure if it would be categorized as a hand and a half sword or a two handed sword. The display was in tact, all the hardware was there, and the holes lined up on the display so none of that was an issue. The edges of the sword are not sharp but the point is, as other people have stated. This is a great quality replica, and like for the last sword, I'll laminate the certificate of authentication and stick it to the wall behind the sword.

Fantastical
I have the three swords found in the troll cave and I gotta say this is my favorite. Beautiful detail on the handle, pummel and cross guard, which is brushed to make it look antique which is cool. The blue leather grip is beautiful and tight and feels so good in your hand. The blade is shiny and beautiful, but from a distance it has little ripples or waves in it, my other ones don't so it's not a light trick. But you have to really look to see that. My only other problems are the connection between the blade and cross guard is ugly and looks unauthentic. The blade groove runs all the way through the cross guard and so it leaves a big ol' hole there. The only other problem is not really applicable seeing as how this is only a display piece, but it is soooo unbalanced it is scary. The pommels on swords are made to even out the weight of the blade to balance it and make it easier to swing around. I made some big. pvc and foam swords and they are as heavy as glamdring and were as unwieldy until I made heavy pimples and now they are so easy to swing around and awesome. Glamdring could be like that if it was balanced, but after all it is a display piece so it's not a problem with the sword, just my little whim. Overall it is amazing and looks so good hanging in between sting and orcrist

Stabby but not slashy
This sword is heavy and appears well made. The hangar that comes with it is a bit disappointing. It only allows you to mount it vertically. Additionally, the blade is not sharpened. This has led to a disagreement between my husband and I. He doesn't think that we can have it sharpened but I want to use Glamdring to play a life size game of fruit ninja since we don't currently have an orc problem.

sharpness
bought this for my LOTR obsessed girlfriend for Christmas. I already bought her Sting and was super impressed so me wanting a bigger sword to satisfy my interests (i.e. me man, me want big sword), I bought this to go with it. I love everything about this blade. It's light and balanced, put together very well, and sturdy as a MFer. The only and i mean only issue i have it that the blade is not sharp at all. The tip will poke you, but the edges are flat. I cannot complain too much about it because it is beautiful and the pictures on the page does show the blade will not be sharpened. all in all a must have for a LOTR collector.
