Fodor's Beijing (Full-color Travel Guide) Paperback – October 15, 2013

Beijing is a huge, complicated city, and a tourist wants to know where things are in relation to each other. This guide, while informative, offers only very small maps that make it difficult to plan an organized itinerary. The addition of a map showing all of the districts (the city is too big to go into much detail) would be a step forward. Still, it is nice to have a guide dedicated solely to Beijing, and this is a good start.

yes this book was great for China.. There was a lot to learn prior to this trip..Not only do not drink the water but a lot of little things that were very important like make sure you have toilet paper in you pocket there is non in the airport or public wash room..

Just a so-so guide to the obvious. Much to much concern with eating and shopping and not enough of what makes Beijing such a great city.

Very up-to-date information. Lots of hotels, dining, and tourist locations with reviews. Tips on how to visit Beijing and adjoining environs.

Considering the internet it pretty good to us these days, I'm hoping that guide books will move to a new level.This book had the main facts, but didn't deliver anything over a brief internet search.
