Gothic Red Rose Top Hat - Velvet Hat with Satin Roses and Lace Veil

Really cute! This was a fun part of a costume!

Love the hat

Very nice hat for the price. Purchased for a Halloween costume. That hat is a velvet type material seems to be firm enough to hold hats shape. The lace in the back is soft and not scratchy feeling at all. The hatband and lace are glued into place so can't be removed. The hatband and roses are a deep red color (maroon??) not a bright red. Overall fit is on the large side (my head measures about 22 inches) but I purchased for costume use and not for daily wear so should be fine.

There are many creative ways to dress up this hat even more i.e. feathers, rimstones, etc. Great choice!

Before purchasing, I read reviews talking about the size, and how one buyer fixed the inside with foam, to fit right. Apparently that’s no longer necessary! Yay! The hat comes with soft padded straps with a Velcro-like product, so you can keep it firmly on the head. The hat itself is very lovely, although the lace was tangled up with the “Velcro-like” piece. I was afraid it would snag and get messed up, but I was able to get the materials apart without damage.

First off, packaged very well in a sturdy box! Secondly, I have a huge head and it fit me. The hat has a surprising amount of 'give'! And lastly, it seems to be made fairly well of good materials. I plan on wearing it onstage with my band and while I will be buying another one soon, that's only because I buy 2 of everything. (I know, it's a bad habit). Add it all up and what do you have? A great hat at a good price.

I can't say enough good things about this hat! The description does not tell you, but it is an extra large hat. That's not bad, though. It's too large for my head, but it gave me the incentive to purchase some long Victorian hat pins that look wonderful with this hat. It arrived packaged so well, too, that not a ding or scratch was on it. If it came in other colors I would gladly purchase this hat again!

The hat itself is, really me, love the look. It sat on my head, okay, for a minute, and then kept sliding down past my eyes. I, added a thick piece of foam, (sponge), in the back for a quick fix, and worked great for 3 wears, but started sliding, again. I, have since added an inch around the whole inside of the hat, (including that original foam in the back), and works better. The only, other drawback is, the the uneven way the lace attached to the hat making it hang bunched on one side, but considering the alterations made, already, there was no going back. With, some, strategically placed staples, and less effective glue (lace sticks to fingers better than itself), I, love my hat! My head is, not particularly, small, either. I, purchased a women's cowboy hat, large, and it is snug so, plan on being creative for sizing
