As an airline pilot I've tried over a dozen cushions. Most were too bulky and changed my seating position, many had worse pressure points than the seats cushion. This one strikes a perfect balance of breathability, cushioning of your sit bones while taking a little pressure if your coccyx and not changing your ride the height. Bonus round that it doesn't shift and is very portable. Best balance of all my needs.

I will be honest- I am not the user of said cushion, my husband is. It was a birthday present. He is a pilot and wanted something that was very portable that would improve the poor condition of his seat which, judging from his complaining, must have been made out of rusty cans and sticky grocery bags filled with crushed cereal. Magically, the complaints have ceased! He is very happy with his Skwoosh. If you are someone using it occasionally, I would maybe spring for a bulkier version- the Skwoosh is a little optimistic about the average size of a human butt. But, if you are someone who wants some effective padding that can be easily crammed into a flight bag (the crammiest of all bags), this is for you. I used it on a road trip and it helped my tailbone feel less awful. It's lightweight, the gel is soft but firm, and the lattice fabric covering it is comfortable and soft.

I bought this because the size looked right for airplane & bus travel. I don't want to lug anything too heavy or bulky. But there is a cost to that - it was just too hard. This might be fine if you just need a little bit of extra cushion, but if you are looking for sciatica relief over a long period of time, I don't think this will do it. It is lightweight and it is going to fit in small seats. Another downside to that -- if you have a larger posterior, you might not be happy with the narrow width.

I have used this pillow in the past, and I ordered a new one when I accidental threw it out with an old suitcase. Kept me more comfortable during long (15 hour) flights.

Purchased before a recent trip to Thailand. After many hours of comfort for my bony self on the plane, it folds up and tucks into the front pocket of my carry on backpack. Also doubled as a pad for my back passenger on bumpy scooter rides during the trip, and for me on the hard wood planks you sit on in the long tail boats or the bad seats on ferry rides! Now I'll use it in my office.

We bought this cushion before our recent 20 hr flight from Chicago to Australia. On our previous 14 hour flights after leaving SFO in Economy (now we have kids) our backsides have paid a hefty price. And we are not large people. I weigh in at 180 lbs (5ft 11) and my wife is 120 lbs (5 ft 8). The gel cushions were magnificent and really eased the pain and stress on buttocks and spine. Combined with a neck pillow Economy was almost pleasantly endurable. One can actually sit or sleep without the constant butt shuffles of previous trips. I just returned rrom an equally long trip from Chicago to South Africa via Frankfurt and I felt almost refreshed after each leg (ok, the upgrade to Business on the final return leg helped !!). We love these cushions and will not fly long distance in Economy without one ever again. An absolute must for frequent long distance fliers.

My husband works in the industrial crane field. He finds himself sometimes sitting for long periods of time way up in the crane cab and other less than desirable seating, so he ordered this. Mainly because it seemed somewhat compact and had handles. He also plans to use in while flying, but hasn't used it that way yet. He reports is it fairly light weight, easy to manivure in different chairs and definitely helps in the comfort department. It is black... and sort of nylon material covered, wipes off easily. I never hesitate to update reviews should new info seem useful.

This is my 2nd swoosh. I lost my 1st one. Totally bummed for weeks. Thought I'd try something less expensive. Not the same. It really is worth the extra. It is lightweight, easy to carry. A larger person may not appreciate it as much as it is not very big. I'd like to carry it on a plane but afraid they will take it. I understand it has gel.
