I absolutely love gifting books to people and found this set along with two others to be exactly what I was looking for, The hardcovers are what I grew up with and still have to this day! My 2.5 year old has been asking to learn to read and after much research, I thought the two Dr. Seuss Beginner Book Collections would be a good place to start. Especially this one, with the ABC book, since he has to recognize all his letters before he can start sounding out words. We've been reading it every night for a week and he is already reciting his ABC's and able to announce which letter comes next before he sees it. Additionally, the books hold his attention, I enjoy reading them too, and the interesting mix of words, rhymes and odd stories seem like a great way to keep kids engaged. Neither of us have any issues with the quality of the books or thickness of the paper. Their the standard size, hardback versions and I'm very happy. Plus, what a great value!
