Great value!
I really enjoy taking this particular brand of Vitamin D. The current recommended daily allowance, according to many new studies, should be increased from the current amount. It should probably be noted that this amount of Vitamin D is, technically, above the tolerable upper limit currently assigned of 4000 IU. I'm not sure that it will really hurt you at all, but it may not be recommended in such a high dose for people who are out in the sun a lot and generate a lot of vitamin D already. If you drink tons of milk or other products that contains a lot of vitamin D, you may also have too much. I, personally, take my vitamin D at night. I'm not sure why, but I feel that it's better this way. This brand contains, according to the bottle: Vitamin D (D3) (as cholecalciferol - from Lanolin) 5000 IU 1250% Daily Value (DV), medium chain triglycerides, [gelatin, glycerin, purified water (capsule shell)]. 100% bovine gelatin, BSE-free. It is in the preferred form for use for the body, vitamin D3. I know what you're probably thinking, since these vitamin D pills contains so much more than the normal %DV that they will be huge, right? Well, they're not too large. I would say that they're very small (much smaller than fish oil or a multivitamin, for example). They're probably just slightly larger than liquid pill version of Advil, if that helps. I also think that it's important to note that bottle that it comes in is made out of glass. This may/may not work for some people. For me, it shows higher quality than the plastic bottles. I don't really like using plastic bottles. I also love having a glass bottle because they can be reused for so many different types of things. This is an A+ quality for me. To read more about vitamin D, you should go to Wikipedia or Science Daily. Just use the search boxes, and look up vitamin D. It will show you that it does a lot more than simply helping to absorb calcium. It's definitely needed (especially for someone like me who doesn't go out into the sun very often to avoid sunburn).

Good Product, But Watch How Much You Take
The product itself is good, the softgels are small for containing 5,000 I.U.s and the price is very reasonable. I was taking it to get my vitamin D level up and it did get it up to a good level. But, since then, it seems I'm excreting more calcium in my urine than is desired. My doctor says it could be because taking 5,000 I.U.s a day is too much for me; she's suggesting I drop down to 1,000 I.U.s daily as a supplement. In a month, we'll recheck my urine to see if things are in the normal range. So, good product, but be cautious about taking this dosage unless your doctor specifically directs you to do so because of a deficiency.

Value for money. I have used many US brands of Vitamin D3 like Solar, Now Foods, Doctor's Best, etc. All are the same quality I can say, as I consume these in bulk since the last one year or more. At least 30,000 IU per day. Regarding the issue about expiry date pointed out by another reviewer here, I want to let everyone know that the product expiry date is below the amazon barcode sticker, on the bottle. The one I got has expiry date : 01/19 I suggest people to check things properly and then come here to post reviews.
