Awesome country map. We wanted a map to highlight a roadtrip on but found it difficult to find one that had the whole country on one side. This one was perfect! Frankly, it had a pretty good amount of detail for the size too. It folds down to a small size (easily would fit in a glove box or seat pocket). It folds WELL. Some maps are a puzzle to fold once they are open. This one is GREAT to fold. It is huge. Seriously, huge. You could use it for a table cloth for a picnic table if you wanted (no joking here). It is slightly laminated. I say slightly because it is clearly coated in plastic of some sort which means it does NOT tear easily and is "somewhat" resistant to water (I assume). 2 (possible) down-sides: --It is so big that it is a real pain to unfold while inside a car...you really need a table, floor, or open space to lay it out well. --The thin laminate on the map can make it difficult to write on if that is your desire. If you don't care about writing on it, then disregard. Overall, Highly recommended!

My husband and I took this on our trip. We wanted a map even though we had Onstar on our car but this map helped us plan our trip. We used it along with the Onstar. We were able to see the route we were taking and make adjustments along the way. It’s laminated on sturdy paper. It’s colorful and easy to read.

We take a long road trip (8,000 miles plus) annually exploring every U.S. state and Canadian Province. This map is an ideal planning tool to spread out before the trip and make a plan. We thought it would be awkward in the car but it was not. We would just unfold as needed for the next portion of the trip. This map resists the tearing that occurs when folding a thinner map. Since we don't always end up going where we intended, we would spread the map out on the hotel bed at the next stop, mark the route we've just driven and plan the next leg. One gets a better sense of the overall trip with this larger map for some reason. We will start using a new version of this map every year for our big trip.

This is the one for the major cross country roadtrip on major roads. Of course the map can be folded to show your next day of travel. It is large enough to give decent detail bit folds down to fit the holders to have it ready. Great to have. The phone gps maps are fine for many details, but this large map is great for a bigger road plan.
