Aquasana Whole House Water Filter Replacement| 1,000,000 Gallons | Carbon & KDF Media | Reduces 97% Chlorine & Sediment | Rhino EQ-1000R

This is our third iteration of this filter (each lasts 10 years!) so we knew what we were getting into. We ordered the used/new version and saved a several hundred dollars over buying it from the Aquasana Web site. It was brand new, and it would be a shame for it to go to waste. Glad we could keep it out of the landfill. i guess it was an Amazon return.

I've had an Aquasauna system since 2012, using their official filter to filter water from my well. February 2024 I took a chance on Amazon's cheaper filter, which had been returned by an Amazon customer and was sold as "looks and functions like new." Stay away from these products and pay the price for the genuine product from Aquasauna, When flushed this filter seemed to have been flushed before. When it was in place, if a little water from the house flowed back into the Rhino, granules of the filter medium came out of the input side. This hadn't happened with prior filters. I kept it in place in hopes it would still work, but during a period of low rainfall in November 2024 the filter filled with orange silt. Even though the prefilters were changed, the filter after the rhino is filled with sediment collected in the rhino. This has never happened before. I don't know what the person who returned it did to the filter but it's not the "Like new" product that was advertised.

I just replaced a 600,000 gallon model I had been using (2015-2021) with this new 1,000,000 gallon model. The inlet & outlet lined up fine. I reused the 1" <-> 3/4" adapter that was on the old unit. The only tool needed was a channel-lock pliers. I cleaned and lubed all the rubber parts using *food-grade* silicone. That's two on the filter unit itself (one in the inlet, one in the outlet), and two in the couplings. I had zero problems with the old unit for the 6 years I had it, so I'm hopeful this will be trouble-free for the next 10 years.

This replaced the original. They say five years and that's when the original sprung a leak, perhaps it was just full of the crap it filtered out of our city water. Easy install. The water tastes better and the fixtures don't clog up. The reason I didn't give it five stars is the cost, for what it is and the materials its made of, the cost doen't compute. But I'm stuck as it's non reusable and proprietary.

Fit perfectly as a replacement for the older spent filter.

Worked for about a week. Waste of money!

The white washers that go inside of the input and output sides were missing. I had to use the old ones from my other one. Also the coupling are plastic and not well made. They broke when we were tightening them . Had to run to the store and purchce heavier ones.
