This item met my expectations and then some. For a few years now I’ve been searching for the perfect train set for under my tree during the holidays and from trial and error, I’ve ended up with this one. I already knew that the Lionel brand was exceptional, but this is a cute fun little set perfect for the holidays or you’re around if you’re an advert train type of person. The quality is top notch in the track is a decent fit. (they sell tracks to fit any size separate separately) Extremely easy to use with everything it comes with as well as your phone via Bluetooth. Definitely worth the money in my opinion. All the sounds a train should make are there as well as a couple of Mickey sounds that are fun for the holidays. I also truly enjoy the puff of smoke designed to come from the smokestack of the engine. Definitely brought me back to when I was a kid again and it looks good too oh, and it’s a great scale if you do Lemax villages.

I ordered this train to place beneath our Christmas tree since I always wanted one as a kid. This is my first train set, so I'm not an expert but to me the quality is really good. The tracks that this set come with are great for use under my tree, where they rest on top of the tree skirt and our shag rug and the train still runs perfectly. Other sets have just regular tracks but these are flat on the bottom so they are much better at being place on uneven surfaces. I also have found the quality of the sounds really good from the chug a chug to the sound of Mickey to the whistle and the hiss when it stops. When we were first trying it out, my whole family was laughing and smiling. My five year old plays with it every day and loves it. We like using the wireless controller to control the train, it's much more fun to control the speed and and other functions with physical dials and buttons. I have used the app to adjust some of the sound settings (you can get really granular) to lower the chug a chug while making the sound effects louder. The app is OK, it looks like it was designed 10-15 years ago. It's good enough to get the job done but my only use is to adjust some settings. I would also recommend getting a power strip with an on/off switch as you are supposed to unplug the train when not in use. It's much easier to flip the switch on a power strip then unplug it every day. Also, the smoke solution that it comes with puts off a smell like a candle that has been blown out (it can get overwhelming after a while). I would go ahead and invest in a replacement that actually makes a pleasing smell (there's all kinds of options out there). My one minor complaint is the only light on the train is the headlamp on the engine. It would have been nice if the caboose windows would light up and the some of the other cars had working string lights. Everything else is nice and works really well, so I'm not taking off for that. This train is a blast and has been a really fun addition to our holiday tradition in my house. It's especially nice in the morning where my wife and I can drink our coffee while my daughter plays with the train in the other room. I definitely feel like we are making some magical memories.

The quality of Lionel Trains is the best. I bought the Lionel Disney Christmas set because my grandchildren love Mickey. The train is solid and the engine heavy. The kids love the bell, horn, and Mickey talking through the controller.

Definitely more plastic than the Lionel set I got as a kid. Still a fairly nice set though. Same thing with today’s autos.

Love it. Works great, kids enjoyed setting it up and playing with it. Syncs with the Lionel app and can run with your phone.

I purchased two of these sets for the four grandchildren. Their ages are 6, 6, 6 and 8. They were a hit with them. The train sets appear to be working very well. The one grandchild said it was his best Christmas gift for the 6 Christmas' he has been on this earth.

I have had this for 2 months. Since getting it, the connection pieces have broke off, making the train not useable, the wheels refuse to stay on the track even when it’s just one car. The sound is horrid. It sounds like Mickey Mouse is being put in a blender, it’s way too expensive for it to have broken so fast & make with incredibly cheap quality. The styrofoam presents alone are horrid. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
