PERFECT Introduction to Gunpla!
Along with the RX-77 Guncannon Revive the RX-78-2 Revive is one of absolute best kits for anybody who wanting to get into gunpla. This is fitting of course, as this is the grandaddy of all Gundams (at least when it comes to its introduction to viewers in 1979, there were obviously other prototype models before it within the UC cannon). It's a simple but satisfying build, that of course looks great with some quick panel lining, but still awesome on its own. The proportions are closer to its appearance in the 0079 series, which may not satisfy all, but it's hard to deny that it looks appropriately sleek but also powerful. It's a "mobile" suit of course, so it should be mobile, and it absolutely is. the amount of articulation and range of motion is absolutely astonishing for such an inexpensive kit, and it looks great in any position. It comes with a fantastic array of weapons (No Gundam hammer though sadly), and only requires the absolute minimum of of painting to look 100% accurate to the professional build on the box. In conclusion: It may not thrill veteran builders, but it's still a great kit overall, and it's cheap enough to do some great custom paint jobs and modding if you're so inclined. Buy it!

Great model of the granddaddy of Gundam and also a giant portion of the mecha genre
This model conveys the general blocky yet slim look of the 78-2 faithfully and beautifully which has also afforded it an excellent range of articulation due to not having the bulkier armor of it's successors. The kit is very simple to put together the only trouble spots are the stickers as they are with most kits but if you get some paint or some gundam markers you can easily avoided them, the eye sticker also isn't necessary as the eye piece is clear yellow so all you have to do is paint it paint and either do your best to avoid painting over the eyes or just paint over the whole thing then carefully scrape the eyes clean. If I had to think of any negatives for this kit it would be the lack of panel lines sculpting on the fronts of the shoulder armor, this is only a negative because the model has panel lines opportunities everywhere you'd expect including the top of the shoulder armor but the front and back are just flat. The safety nubs on the v-fin are also a a bit big and unsightly but this also won't be a negative if you intend to remove them as the you have plenty of room to get your nippers between the nub and fin to carefully cut it off and then lightly sand what remains of it until your fin looks uniform just be careful not to overdo it. Another tip is that the front skirt armor is designed to be separated, simply use your nippers between the two balls, you can sand down the plastic between the balls afterwards but leaving a bit of will help them not be loose due to friction regardless the results will make the model look more dynamic in kneeling and jumping poses.

Classic RX-78-2 that looks good, easy to build, and is pretty cheap.
Great classic RX-78-2. Easy to put together and looks good. Start here with gunpla if you are new.

It’s great/screen accurate/ + great for a beginner
This kit was super simple, easy, and quick compared to other hg models I have done. It took me nearly 5 hours to assemble this guy. And the end results are great! I’d totally recommend this specific HG kit for someone who’s a beginner. My over all thoughts rating on this kit is a 9/10

Great!
Quite a good figure here, and a worthy iteration of this classic piece of artwork. While yes it does not have the Beam Javelin, or even Gundam Hammer, it is a very good figure especially for newbies whom want to get into building Gundam Models. Granted, it's joints are all very stiff and slightly hard to move, it's not really a problem for me, as it does indeed make it easier for the Model to keep its pose, though once more it's definitely something to be careful with, especially if you're someone who gets a not-so-guilty pleasure from playing with your models. Of course one of the advertising points of this model was how, instead of giving it a traditional swivel in the shoulder allowing it to move outward more, it gets a swivel that allows it to move its arm upward, allowing for the final shooting pose from the anime. While I personally LOVE this feature, I must admit it does in fact limit its shoulders forward and backward motion. Articulation is generally good, and you'll be able to get pretty much all of your posing done, though watch for the Beam Saber handles broke pretty easily for myself. Overall, is it the BEST figure ever? No. However it DOES indeed deserve a high rating, as it is a wonderful figure, and definitely a good starter for newbie Model-Builders.

Fun and easy to build, highly recommended for anyone
It is an inexpensive model kit, but it doesn't mean bad quality or lack of detail. The fit and finish are top notch and fun to play with. I painted panel line, added custom decals, and sharpen the V fin. Some minor painting, but nothing serious. The outcome is amazing for the price. Definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys model building, even without any Gundam knowledge or background

A good model, but certainly not the best Gundam to start...
A fairly decent Gundam that looks good, but isn't the for the new Gunpla model kit builders (More on that later). 1) For the most part all of my runners where intact & in the box sealed in plastic. It includes everything that the description says so no worries on that. 2) On the other hand, this particular Gunpla took me around 2 & a half hours to complete mostly due to sticker placement which is one of the things that will probably kill off the interest if the builder isn't tolerant enough to place the corresponding stickers. However only 2 out of the 6 gave me problems, them being the eyes & the one on the back of the head. The rest is quite simple, use the knife to remove & place them. 3) This model unlike the others isn't as posable as you'd think it might be. I found it quite hard adjusting the model without taking everything off (which I did when I took the 3rd picture, the one that waves while sitting on top of the box) 4) It has a bit of a balance issue, but if you happen to have a spare stand then you'll have a great time with it. 5) Please note that equipping the shield, pistol/rifle, & the rocket launcher is very difficult to add on due to the hands being so odd to remove & place. If found it easier to remove the hand from the model & assembling it with the equipment that you want. In conclusion, if you want to get a simple design Gunpla with an average difficulty to build upon I suggest that you get this model. Otherwise, I would recommend getting the the Grazers from MSG HG Bloody Orphans or something else that doesn't have as much of a difficulty spike when attempting to build it.

Great for new builders and Gundam fans alike.
It's such a simple, tiny kit, and yet it represents decades of history. The 'grandpa' is an iconic design, and one that almost every major suit in the UC (and other) timelines follows to some extent. If you're not a Gundam fan, none of that crap means anything to you, but if you are, you already know how important this suit is. The kit itself is only a few runners, and will take even someone completely new to model building only a few hours to put together. I only do basic snap-togethers of my my fits with the occasional panel-lining and decal application, so my pictures will represent exactly what you get out of the box. It's a very nicely posable model for something so small and simple, and its accessories are equally as simple and good looking. The fit of the pieces is spot-on, and the look remains iconic despite being simplified for a high grade. It stands up extremely well to extended playing around, which some of the more complicated models often will not, making it double quite decently as a toy for careful hands. If you're a gunpla fan, you either already have this kit, or just turn you nose up to high grades and don't want to even be bothered. Don't worry. I want the PG grandpa myself. One day... If for some reason you don't already have this kit, and enjoy throwing together high grades, seriously - get it. It's a fun little build. If you want to give a gift to someone who likes putting things together, likes giant robots (maybe even a Gundam fan already,) and likes having knick-knacks they can actually play with from time to time, this is a great pick. It's extremely cheap, it looks great put together without any paint and only minimal amounts of stickers, and is overall a pretty relaxing experience. Just remember to get them a pair of decent plastic nippers if they don't already have them; all of the pieces come attached to runners.
