This was a perfect replacement for one my grandson had for years. Definitely served it’s purpose of having plenty of space to use for traveling.

UPDATED REVIEW: I have taken eleven flights so far carrying this backpack and it's still like new. The attached picture was taken right after arriving from the latest one, bag fully packed with clothes weighing a total of 20lbs. Depending on how full it is, it can fit the requirements as a carry on or an under seat personal item. I own six backpacks for travel and this one is my favorite as it's simple, sturdy, lightweight and packs A LOT. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I wanted a minimalist backpack -I am not a fan of the ones with lots of pockets and zippers-. This backpack is as simple as can be, has the right size to be a carry on and it is lightweight but with great capacity. I traveled with it for two weeks during winter and I was able to fit many bulky garments, including snow pants for skiing. The way it closes feels very secure -besides looking cool- and the canvas seems heavy duty so I reckon it will last many years.

The material itself is great but the straps started to come off after a lot of use, I had to re-stitch them with sail repair thread. Now it's tougher and perfectly usable, so just be prepared to maybe do some reinforcing if you plan to fill it heavily.

These are super sturdy and don't seem like they will rip easily.

The bag itself is good however after 3-4 uses and not filling the bag completely full one of the mental eyelets came out. Since it was past the return window I couldn't return the bag.

I love traveling with this bag - it's rugged yet stylish. It matches my cargo pants. It fits airlines' requirements for personal item. It could be a little bigger and it would still match those requirements. A few more pockets (inside and/or outside) would also be useful.
