Altec Lansing MZX856-WHT Bluetooth Active Earbuds, White

Love these! I forgot to charge them last night after using them to listen to music for 8hrs. straight. I didn't know how much to expect out of them today when I turned them on. Much to my surprise, they worked today for 6hrs of music without any low battery warnings! Tonight after plugging them in, they are fully charged in under an hour!!! All of this being said, you pay for the battery life with a bulky battery that hangs below your collar line making them tug at your earbuds when moving quickly. If you can live with this, they are very high quality and a decent price point for what you get! I thought the sound was a little muddy when I first used them but they have only gotten better,.. I don't know if they have a break in time or if I am just used to them.. The bass response is incredible, the highs and mids are excellent, and they have absolutely no distortion at all listening levels that I have tried. They are very loud!!! I listen to them at maybe 1/4 volume and it is loud enough to hear in a clanky truck with windows open!I used them for the first time today to talk on the phone and was told they are acceptable as far as my voice quality. I had absolutely no problem hearing those I talked to and again had them at very low volume.

Better than expected. They stay in my ears and the battery life is great. You do not need to spend extra $$ for the name brand headphones.Update The plug that covers the Micro USB port ripped in half when I pulled it out. I called ALTEC CUSTOMER SERVICE. What a mistake. The CUSTOMER service rep was rude and stated that I probably was too rough when I pulled in the plug. I asked to buy a replacement and he said they do not sell one. The only way to fix it was to return the whole headset at my expense and it would take three weeks to her back once they received it. It is obviously a defect in the cover. Once the opening gets sweat on it the headphones will be useless. I will not buy another ALTEC product again.

Still love it! This is my second pair of altec ear bud , lost the first one so decided to buy the same pair on Amazon . First time I bought it in Wal-Mart, cost me 50 bucks and is worthy to me.In this price range the long battery life is just unbeatable. Last about 3 days single charge(constantly use). Not to mention it is waterproof so I can wear them in the gym and at work all day. Decent range Bluetooth, decent sound quality.***The only thing I don't like is how they design to the battery, it does work as a counter weight so i always feel it behind my neck and won't drop it. But without a wrap, it swing around too much when I am running or making big movement. Is just a pain in the ass when the ear bud got yanked out by the battery. If there's a way to secure it will be perfect.

These earbuds are great. I've purchased 4 pairs of them over the last few years. The last of them I purchased in September. The earbud for the right ear started cutting out, but they were still under warranty, so I sent them in for repair.Two weeks later I got my earbuds back, but not the same earbuds. These have been discontinued and repairs are being replaced with the new model. The new model has a 10 hour battery life, rather than 20. Their maximum output is about half the volume. These MZX856 earbuds could get too loud if I turned them up to max volume. The new ones, the MZX857 get drowned out by background noise - even at max volume. The new, MZX857 earbuds can only pair with 1 device at a time, rather than the multiple devices the MZX856s could pair with, and they are made out of cheap, lightweight plastic. They also retail for about half the price.The company will tell you it's an upgrade and that all the changes are because people wanted a lighter earbud, but the quality on the new model has suffered significantly.So, these earbuds are great, but if something goes wrong, there is effectively no warranty.

I personally really liked these ear phones for a long time; around 5 months without a complaint! I did notice after a few weeks of using it that the deep booming bass was a bit lopsided, providing louder booms on my left ear. The battery pack is not heavy, but i you do anything that includes moving, the pack will move to one side of the neck or the other. This makes it very easy to pull the bud out of just one ear. The battery life is amazing though! I chose these, the cheaper option, over the Beats wireless headphones only because its battery life is 20 HOURS!!! I thought this was an exaggeration that couldn't be true. But I can tell you that after my first full charge, it took 5 DAYS to completely drain the battery. These things do have phenomenal sound, able to keep pace with Beats. Phone calls also sound great, giving you the ability to fully hear what the contact has to say. They have a very comfortable fit that not only goes into your ear but circles the inside as well. There is a pretty good sound seal but it is not absolute. You will be able to hear someone talking to you if the ear buds are in with the music paused, but it will be muffled and very quiet. I assume this is so you can hear cars while jogging. After about 4 or 5 months i my left ear bud topped producing audio. In addition the battery pack started to lose its binding adhesive, causing it to split apart. Finally the last physical damaged piece I could fine after 7 months was not a fully charged battery and over heating. However, I sent Altec Lansing customer support a message and after roughly 2 days we determined the problem and they simply asked me to mail the ear buds in for a full replacement with an expected delivery time of 10-15 days. Although it was not as durable as I would have liked it to be, I am very impressed with their customer service. One other complaint, the controls on the side of the ear buds were a bit confusing to use. Took me around 20 minutes to figure out how to even pair. There are 3 buttons that allow you to do all kinds of things such as turn up the volume, skip songs, call people and answer calls, turn on and off, pair, and many other things all done by holding different buttons for varying time periods. You get the hang of it, but it does become very overwhelming and complex when you first use it. All in all, I am very happy with these and would recommend them to ANYONE looking to save the money on an alternate to Beats.
