Rust-Oleum 206540 Chalkboard Brush-On Paint, 30 oz, Black

I recently used Rust-Oleum 301450 Specialty Chalkboard Paint to transform a wall in my kitchen into a functional chalkboard, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results.  The application was straightforward; I used a foam roller to apply the paint, which went on smoothly without any streaks. The coverage was impressive, and I was able to coat approximately 95–120 square feet with the 30 oz can, as advertised.  After allowing the paint to dry for about 30 minutes, I waited the recommended 24 hours before “conditioning” the surface by rubbing the side of a piece of chalk over the entire area and erasing it. This step is crucial for optimal performance, as it helps prevent permanent marks.  The finished chalkboard surface is smooth, scratch-resistant, and erases cleanly with a damp cloth. It’s perfect for jotting down grocery lists, leaving notes, or letting the kids draw.  One of the standout features is its versatility. This paint can be applied to various indoor surfaces, including wood, metal, concrete, masonry, drywall, plaster, glass, and unglazed ceramics, making it ideal for a range of DIY projects. Great chalk paint! Goes on easy, looks nice, works well. Easy wipe off when you want to make changes after chalk is applied. Stays on great even when water is applied to remove colored chalks. I've used it inside and out and both areas still look great after chalk and weather use.

Painted bulletin boards with this so I no longer had to cover with paper or fabric. The product went on super easy and it has lasted. Makes the bulletin board look super clean and keeps it dust free.

It works well. We put it on our bedroom doors. The only problem I had with it is you definitely need a second coat. It's very streaky and see through if you just use one. So for 3 doors I had to get an extra can.

Amazing product, I painted a set of cubbies and this paint came out beautifully. It goes on as a dark blue and dries to a charcoal black. I got chalk markers and it works perfectly and glides on smooth, the can is leak proof and low odor.

I used 2 quarts for a 10x11 wall with 1 even, thick coat. A mini foam roller will only cover about one half sq. ft. before being too thinned for this products finish, which is good with just 1 coat if you're not spreading it on too thin. My toddler spilled sippy cup water on the finish after 4 days. Pretty much as soon as she could use it. No damage, and I wiped the entire board clean @ 4 days because of it. Again, at 7, shows no noticeable loss in paint. With an absolute killer finish. Best clean will be from folding a damp cloth in half and using the outter 2 halfs and then reversing the fold and using the inner 2 halfs, since the chalk will spread across the cloth and wall after enough accumulates. For an entire wall I use a towel.

Great for regular chalk. Cannot use chalk markers.

This chalkboard paint works really well. It goes on smoothly, dries evenly, and turns my wall into a usable chalkboard. My kid loves drawing on it. It wipes clean easily and doesn’t leave a mess. Very happy with this purchase!

So far this has worked out great. The can came dented.. but hasn't affected it. I did at least 3 coats to make sure it didnt scratch off. It's for a kids play room so its done the trick! I use a wet cloth to clean it.
