OXO Good Grips Silicone/Stainless Steel Tub Stopper, Grey

I bought this for our bathtub as the plug that came with the tub finally broke and was no longer unusable. I searched around Amazon and Walmart for a stopper until I ran across the OXO brand in the line-up. I immediately bought it, and as expected, it works great. Simple placement, stays put, doesn't leak, easy to remove, and the little suction cup on the bottom flap lets you stick it to the wall out of the way until the next time you need it. The material and manufacturing are top of the line, and well worth the little extra cost over the others. This is about the seventh or eighth item that I've purchased from the OXO company, and I have been highly impressed with each and everything they make. Everything is well designed and made with only high-quality materials. I not only recommend this drain stopper, but I fully recommend the OXO company of products as well.

With insert, does not form tight seal. Usefulness/Appearance/Fun Factor: **** (4 star) It's inconvenient to keep removing the insert when using this stopper, hence minus one star.

I bought this two months ago for our refinished tub and have been very happy with it. I only use that tub to take baths in. The suction part was useless but that doesn't matter because the rest of the stopper works fine. I just make sure it is centered over the drain. Update 12/6/2025: It is still working great - no leaking.

I'm usually a fan of OXO, but this tub stopper doesn't quite deliver like I'd hoped. This tub stopper is big. Bigger than I expected. And that's a good thing. Its size allows a wider surface for it to create a seal with and makes the whole thing seem less protruding when in the tub. The silicone material it is made from seems high quality, being flexible, durable, and soft. Like most OXO products, it feels like it is well-made. In terms of actually stopping the tub, it does a pretty good job. Left alone, it seems to create a seal easily regardless of water temperature, soap residue, etc. Unfortunately, tub stoppers are not just left alone. People (and pets) move around in a tub and the stopper is going to get bumped. When that happens, this tub stopper doesn't always stay in place. With tub stoppers you would rather a seal that is too strong than too weak, and sadly, this stopper creates a fairly weak seal. Getting it back into place is admittedly very easy, but having to reposition it every time you (or a pet you're bathing) move is frustrating. Another minor annoyance is that the suction cup doesn't actually work very well at storing the device on a wall or other surface when not in use. This really wasn't an issue for me, but it is something to be aware of. Overall this product is a rare miss for OXO. While it does its main job well, the little frustrations add up and you might be better off looking elsewhere for a tub stopper.

We’ve got push down type plugs which have started leaking. This product solves the problem and fits all types of baths/sinks. The little suction cup works to secure while you fill the bath. Arrived in notified time frame.

It's not often I feel the need to write a review, especially on something as seemingly mundane as a sink plug. I have bought well over a thousand items from Amazon over the years and my review list is nowhere near that extensive. However, I have just received this item and was so impressed that I felt a review was in order. My wife has complained for a while that the only way to clean the non-slp mat in our shower basin has been to take it out of the shower and bleach it in the sink. If the drainage hole in the shower could take an ordinary plug, she (or even I) could have put the b;leach straight into the shower basin and top up with water. But the design of the system, with a grating flush with the basin, made that impossible. Enter, the OXO plug; nothing, apparently to do with gravy mix but every bit as tasty - metaphorically, that is. Having searched B & Q and Wilko without success I browsed Amazon, looking for a floppy plug that might do the job, and happened on this one. I had my doubts but decided to give it a try. And today, it arrived. And it works! The plug literally flops down over the waste outlet, the stainless steel piece on top helps to hold it down and a suction pad on the tab to one side keeps it from moving. The water pressure does the est. Not a drop of water escapes. And when you want to store it, simples! The sucker attaches it to the glass or tiles until it's need again. The photos attached to this review will give you a clearer idea. This may not be the cheapest plug around but I'm not complaining. It works brilliantly and is well worth its modest five stars.

Je m'en suis servi à cause des mauvaises odeurs des canalisations de ma douche. Après maintes déversements de produits (eau de javel, acide, soude), j'ai fini par me dire que ce devait être le syphon qui avait un problème. En tant que locataire, je n'allais pas demander de tout démolir. Donc je rebouche simplement le trou d'évacuation après chaque douche. Je déplace ce bazar avec le pied, même pas besoin de me baisser. Très pratique et efficace. Bien hermétique.
