A surprisingly simple but inexpensive, useful, and easy-to-install replacement kit for your phone's port cover - well worth the
I recently had to replace the "port protector/cover" on my Samsung Galaxy S5 (don't ask), so naturally I came to Amazon to see what was available.Honestly I'm not really sure what I was expecting when I opened the box, but I was a little surprised. A simple bag with the items shown in the picture and no instructions. But then I realized that the lack of directions was not an issue because the repair was/is so obvious as to render instructions unnecessary. So that lack is not a problem. It probably took all of 3-4 minutes to do the repair, and it was very simple.I would buy this repair kit again and I would recommend it to friends, family, and co-workers.In case you are shocked at the lack of directions, here is a quick summary which should suffice.1. If your phone is in a case, remove it from the case.2. Turn your phone off.3. Carefully remove the phone's back and place it out of the way (you'll need it later of course...).4. CAREFULLY open the bag which the replacement parts came in and put them somewhere that you will not lose them.5. Using the (provided) screwdriver, CAREFULLY remove the screw holding the small "retaining block" in place (it is on the BACK of your open phone and is on the LEFT side of the USB connector).6. Save the screw (put it with the parts in this repair kit).7. CAREFULLY remove the retaining block (mine was so tightly installed initially that it deformed badly on removal - your mileage may vary) and set it aside. If it is in "reusable" condition, the save it with the other parts from the kit. Otherwise toss it into the plastics recycling bin.8. Remove the broken-off part of the original retaining tab which is still in the slot which the retaining block was covering.9. CAREFULLY insert a replacement port-cover's retaining tab into the slot from which you just removed the broken piece. Be sure to orient it in the direction so that you can put the port cover over the port (try it - if it doesn't work turn it around - FWIW, it's pretty hard to put it in the wrong direction without realizing that you have done so).10. CAREFULLY (if you have thick fingers {I do} then you may need tweezers) put a new "retaining block" into its slot (the one where you removed the original one.11. The screwdriver is slightly magnetic. CAREFULLY (it would be easy to lose the screw at this point) insert the screw into it's slot, and then screw it down securely - that is finger tight, but not tight enough to strip out the plastic in the screw's slot).12. Close the cover over the port to make sure you didn't put it on backward. (go back to step 5 and fix the problem if you did)13. Replace the case's cover, making sure that it is properly sealed all around it's perimeter.14. Using a fingernail, make sure you can remove and re-close the port cover (if you don't have it on tightly, you'll get reminders from the phone either (a) to close your case or (b) close the port cover ... ad infinitum).15. If you have a case for your phone, go ahead and put the phone back it in its case.16. Turn your phone back on and you're done. The above directions actually take MUCH longer to read than the replacement process does. But it's a little like getting directions from Google - most of the directions are about getting out of your garage and your driveway and then getting out of your neighborhood... I.e., those are the ones you don't really need...I hope that the above helps, and if you're still confused reread and try again (but please don't ask me).`

Great product for what its intended use
The flap on the Samsung S5 I purchased was missing. Unfortunately I was getting the message from the phone that the flap needed to be closed by default which was annoying. The installation was easy and it got rid of the annoying message of closing the flap. Plus it matched the chrome trim of the screen bezel.

You will need this kit sooner or later...
This kit saved my bacon...and my phone. I always keep my phone (Galaxy S5) in my breast pocket so when the little door over the USB port broke off I notices lint and other debris started accumulating within the port. It's probably the entire reason why there even is a door over the port. I got this kit and it saved me from a lot of potential problems. It doesn't come with any instructions but the parts themselves show how to do it. Don't be afraid of tinkering with your phone because it's incredibly easy. Once you pull off the back cover of your phone you will see a tiny plastic plate held down by a tiny screw near the bottom of the phone. The tiny plastic plate looks exactly like the two tiny pieces of plastic included with this kit so you'll already know what you need to look for. The kit comes with a screwdriver so you'll already know how to take the screw out. Once you take the plate off you'll see a tiny broken piece of black plastic underneath This is the remains of the hinge that had been broken off the previous USB cover. Remove the broken hinge and orient the hinge of the USB port over the exact same way. Put everything back together, Even if you have butter fingers and lose the screw, you have two more. BOOM you're done.By the time it takes for you to finish reading this review, for five bucks you'll have replaced it and made your phone good as new. Now go laugh at iPhone users for having to pay some "Apple Genius" $80 to repair their own phones.

Keeping my Samsung Galaxy S5 Cell Phone in Top Shape
My Samsung Galaxy S5 phone has a cover for the area where the charger gets inserted. This is what keeps the phone waterproof or at least water resistant. When it broke off my phone the first time, Verizon said that it could not be repaired and since my phone was still under warranty, they replaced the phone. The second time it broke off, I knew not to go back to Verizon. I knew there had to be an easy way to replace this piece on my phone. I did a search on Amazon and found this item as well as a video on how to do the repair. This repair takes less than one minute to do, if you are slow...it is that easy! Shame on Verizon for saying it could not be repaired. How ridiculous!!! I have now replaced this piece two times on my phone without a problem. I am thrilled to have found this product so that I can provide the most protection to my phone as I can. You can't go wrong with this if you have the same problem I had. My friend has the same phone and I showed her how to replace hers as well after she order the same replacement parts.

Very easy to install
Quick delivery. Very easy to install. Great having extra replacements. Great price. This was a poor usb design on behalf of Samsung for an $800 phone. Glad to see I am not the only of many with same problem.

Easy to put on the phone
I used it to replace my G5 phone charger cover flap. It's fiddly because the screws are small, but I expected that. It didn't take me long to replace the flap & it's still working fine. I bought a few flaps for if I need another one in future, or if I broke one when replacing the original - but I didn't need another one: The screwdriver that came with the pack was a great 'extra'.

Easy peasy replacement
The cover of my SAMSUNG S5 snapped into half after 12 month's use. Replacing it was a doddle. Open the back cover, no need to remove the battery. Remove the tiny screw that holds the hinge, gently prise open the small plastic cover carefully retaining the thin washer underneath, remove old hinge, insert new USB cover. Reverse procedure, job done.

Perfect ..
I was so glad I brought this little handy pack of replacements. My phone was still under warranty but I did not want to have to send my phone off to be repaired when I could have easily done it myself. So I went for the hassle free option and fixed it myself. For the price you can't go wrong. Looks brand new you can't even tell the difference. .
