Does the job!
This poacher is excellent. It is very good quality and has been used many times already. I smear soft butter in the cups and the eggs slip out easily. The lid fits tightly so the eggs cook evenly. I would highly recommend it.

Great egg poacher
As someone who cant do poached eggs, this has been the perfect gadget. Fresh poached eggs in as little as 4 minutes.

Good poacher for 4 eggs.
A very good poacher - it consistently creates poached eggs! The cups have little metal handles, which are require some protection (kitchen paper) to use. My only concern is that the handle is very lightly spot-welded to the pan, & twists slightly in use - how long will it last? So far it has also proved very easy to clean - which I didn't expect. Note: the pan itself is an ideal little pan where you don't want 'non-stick'. Apart from doubts about its handle, it is an excellent little frying pan.

Good product but not happy
This is the second one of these I have bought. The first was a 4 cup one, I have used it a lot for well over a year now and love it. I told my sister and she wanted one too so I decided to buy one as a gift. I purchased the 6 cup one for her. I was disgusted to see that it had been previously used with marks and smears all over it and the internal packaging in disarray. Apart from this the only complaint I had was that the handle can get extremely hot but no problem to use a tea towel to handle when hot.

Great value, great results!
Forget any 'modern' items professing to make great poached eggs: this is the modern version (it has non-stick inserts!) of a method of making them that we used 70 years ago that worked then - and it works now! The glass cover makes judging when the eggs are done to perfection and, because the steam is on top of the eggs as well as the bottom, the eggs cook throughout, perfectly. Another great advantage of this pan is that you can poach 4 to 6 eggs just as easily as 1.

Particularly good for large eggs
Review written after first use. Nice sturdy and not overly heavy pan. Worked well on induction hob with water coming to a boil quickly. I paid around £27 which is seems a reasonable price. Pros - nice deep cups that comfortably hold a large egg with room to spare. Eggs cooked perfectly - runny yolk and well cooked white. Non stick coating worked well (although I do use a little butter). Cons - despite being vented, water spattered around the pan while simmering. A little trickier on first attempt to remove eggs than from the shallower curved insert more typically found with these pans but got them out with a tablespoon. A rubber spatula was provided but I forgot about this so didn't try it out. Overall happy with this purchase.

Once you figure out what works for your cooktop, you will have perfect eggs every time. I have an induction cooktop. This egg poacher is as described. Easy to use. Easy to clean. It is well made. There are no instructions as such, so it is trial and error. I like my yolks runny, so 5 minutes was about right on medium heat. A little butter in the cups and the eggs slide right out. No mess, no fuss.

Whether Iām making breakfast for the family or preparing snacks, this egg boiler is reliable and efficient. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves perfectly cooked eggs without the hassle.

Kind of cheap feeling and flimsy, but it works. I like the metal finish b/c I didn't want nonstick. It isn't a true poacher but rather a steamer, but in my old age I have trouble poaching eggs the old fashioned way. I'm happy w/ it. Hope it holds up. I like the fact that it doesn't have so many loose parts and screws that might fall into the food.
