Works perfectly and pairs with KM717 keyboard mouse combo
This works as advertised, see the Dell site for instructions on pairing. I wanted to use a spare KM717 keyboard with a laptop from work (which has its bluetooth disabled due to its security setup). The Dell Parts representative told me it would not work. Unconvinced, I ordered this item from Amazon. If you cannot install the Dell Universal Pairing Software on the target computer (my work laptop did not allow software installs), use this dongle in a different PC, install the Dell software there, and go through the pairing instructions. Then remove the dongle and insert into your target machine. Keyboard already paired, no need to install the Dell Software.

Don’t waste your money. Buy the whole kit instead
Didn’t work! Plugged it in and the keyboard and mouse never connected. I bought it to replace another one that broke (exact same model, etc) but it never worked.

Superb Dell product. Highly recommend if you have one mouse and 2 or more PC’s.
Great product. Was sceptical at first as some reviews said it didn’t work. It works fine and as i totally expected. Now i can use my mouse on another PC.

Check your device carefully before buying
I bought this to try and resurrect a Dell KM714 keyboard and WM514 mouse that no longer have a receiver. Despite the product description stating clearly that this receiver was compatible with the keyboard and mouse I have, neither would pair with it. Further investigation revealed that the particular versions of the keyboard and mouse I have use actually use Logitech Unifying Technology, not Dell's Universal Pairing system. That's right, Dell apparently made two different versions of this keyboard and mouse that use different dongles, but did not see the need to give them different model numbers. It takes a very special kind of stupid to think that way.

Both dongle and keyboard have the blue chain logo from Dell. Worked like a charm after setup.
