Review: Plants may all get eaten if the pond contains Koi - I’d love to be able to say, how pleased I am with my new pond plants. They arrived fresh and alive, a bit smaller than I had expected. However, size wasn’t my problem: after putting them in the water one day, the next day, they were all gone! I have four Koi and I can only think, they ate every single plant!! lol I know, Koi will nibble on pretty much anything, I just wasn’t prepared for all the plants to be gobbled. Will have to re-think how to protect the next batch of plants. Keep this in mind, for your own pond. :) Update: I was thinking about ordering some more of these, but happened to read a few reviews and it seems many individuals have gone through the same ordeal as me. One person did not recommend these for an outdoor pond and I have to agree with them. I’m not going to re-order after all. Review: Arrived all dead as far as I can tell - For starters I always make sure to grab the duckweed as soon as it arrives; I don't let it sit out. I've bought from this seller before, and in the past their duckweed has come with some gelatinous substance which I believe keeps most of the duckweed healthy during transit. No complaints, and I have always been happy with the duckweed I received. This time, the duckweed was sent in a small bag with some water in it. Not a big deal in the change, but normally I expect a ~50-70% mortality rate of the duckweed I receive and I think that's pretty reasonable. However, the entire batch I received was all browning and mostly dead (see image). I got it under my grow lamp hoping for at least one or two survivors. It's now 12 days after receiving the duckweed, and nearly all of them are dead, sunk, or on their way there. My goldfish love this stuff and I sadly have none to give them. I hope this was just a one off error on the seller's part, as I have been happy with the product before.

Great plant to consider for your gardening projects!
Plenty of large duckweeds that came perfectly packaged, rooted, healthy, and all alive. I also noticed small ones mixed in, little specs that are likely tiny babies (so I took the plastic bag, filled it with water and then dumped them into my water source to make sure I got as many as possible. Great transaction! If this is the same duckweed, it might be a good source of protein (double check by doing research), and it can also be great for water gardens. Great plant for farming too for a creative thinker.

May come with Free Snail
Package was shipped with healthy looking duckweed however had lots of stragglers. Just adding them to a container with water you can see aphids, ticks, and snails. Plants have more than a few broken roots but the leaves look healthy. Looks like they were just scooped out without even a rinse. Hopefully the hitchhikers aren't invasive nor problematic. Edit* Plants have started to grow slowly in zone 9a. Takes a while to get started. The snail grew a bit more under observation and seems to be a common bladder snail. While it is ok for my purposes they are considered invasive by some. While I appreciate a free snail that won't harm my fish it might be better to clean off the plants or letting them grow in a separate container before adding to a tank or pond.

Ok I guess
The plants arrived in acceptable condition -- maybe 30% were dead but this is typical for mail order plants and if you put them in a healthy aquarium they should be thriving in no time. I had two problems with this product, the first is the quantity -- very small. Each order was in a small plastic container -- about the size of a plastic ketchup cup you might use to dip your fries in at a burger place. For this reason, this product is not the best value. The second problem is that the packaging was bad. On of my aforementioned ketchup cups had come open in the shipping envelope and the plants inside were scattered about the envelope. I was able to save most of them, but it was messy. However, if you don't mind waiting for the plants to propagate on their own, this is an acceptable product.

Great for aquariums!
Arrived 3 days early. The plants are healthy and it came with a lot of them. Many people complained about the size, no they’re probably not good for outdoor ponds, but for indoor aquariums they are great. I’m happy with them. The picture is 10 days after adding to my tank.

Not much there for the money
The plants arrived healthy and were well shipped. That being said, I was very disappointed with the size. Just look at the photo for some idea what you’re really getting. I have a few 4” fish in my pond that are regularly fed. All of this was gone within a few hours. If you don’t have fish, this might be a good deal for you, as I’m pretty sure it grows and multiplies quickly. If you do have fish, don’t expect it to last more than a day.

Not worth the money
Half of them were dead. They are extremely small. Not like the pictures. Certainly not for ponds. Poor product description. Very disappointed and non refundable.
