Tea Time
If kettles had personalities, the Haden Dorset 1.7 Liter Stainless Steel Electric Kettle would be that reliable friend who shows up with tea and biscuits whenever you need them. Sleek, polished, and somehow both classic and quietly confident, this kettle turns the simple act of boiling water into a little moment of joy. Let’s talk design: the stainless steel body feels solid and elegant—like it belongs in a minimalist kitchen magazine spread. It’s the type of appliance that makes you want to boil water even when you don’t need to. The 1.7 liter capacity is generous without being unwieldy, perfect for families, guests, or that second cup you definitely deserve. Functionality is where it truly shines. The 360-degree base makes it effortlessly easy to lift and replace from any angle—ideal for left- or right-handed tea aficionados. The handle feels comfortable and balanced, so even a full kettle doesn’t turn into an upper-arm workout. And the quick boil time means you’re sipping your cuppa before your brain has fully registered, “I need caffeine.” Safety features like auto shut-off and boil-dry protection give peace of mind—no more pacing the kitchen wondering if you forgot to turn it off (you didn’t). If there’s one tiny gripe, it’s that once you’ve experienced this kettle, lesser kettles feel like they’re doing the job begrudgingly. But is that really a downside? Not in my book. In short: stylish, dependable, and user-friendly—the Haden Dorset kettle makes boiling water feel like an upgrade. Five stars from me and several happy mugs of tea!

Just the ticket!
This kettle is attractive but, more importantly, easy to use and very reliable. The handle is well placed and does not become to hot to handle when in use. The Haden brand is sturdy, fast and long lived as well.

Amazing quality
Exceptional quality. Capacity is great. I use the dial on the front to see how close I am to boiling more than I expected to. I just thought it was cool looking.Blessedly it does not beep when the water boils, just a click. If you remove the top after it boils to put in more water, the handle of the top is cool, but the edges of the top are quite hot. The instructions warn about this, and it’s quite easy to avoid, but be aware.

Not just a pretty color. It works well too.
It’s not just a pretty face. It has the best capacity at 1.7 L. It boils no faster than my old kettle, but doesn’t take long. To fill it with water you have to remove the lid, which I wasn’t too sure about but now I find it easy. With the temperature dial at the front you can see at a glance how close it is to boiling or gauge when it is ready at a lower temp for tea. Lastly, the color is a beautiful glossy red. It adds a nice pop of color to my kitchen. It’s a happy color!

Masculine & Feminine / works great
Works great and looks great. My husband is into the whole steam punk industrial look. Since he does say the kitchen in my domain he doesn't try to influence me on design. I feel like the house is ours not just mine so I try to include his interests anyway I can without over stepping my personal designs. The electric tea pot suits just that idea. It's not to masculine or feminine. As far as functionality it works great. I have little to complain about. It heats up quickly, worth the cost and easy to use and clean. One complaint the top of the handle is plastic while most is metal. Doesn't change the structure much. I'd just prefer it all to be metal.

Stainless steel with a plastic fill window.
I was SO excited to get this kettle. It’s heavy duty and beautiful. I ordered the putty color and it was even better in person. The only reason I knocked off a star is because I had to return due to the plastic fill window. I saw a review that had said the only down side was that there was no fill window and I guess I overlooked everything else because that was my selling point. Looking back I do see a small photo with part of the fill window in it but nothing in the description to advise if it is BPA free. I’m still bummed.

Disappointed
I did not know I would be getting a previously used or returned item. Very unhappy. At the price it should be new. I will be returning it. But it is too late for the gift I had planned.

The kettle looks great and love the styling of copper and black. Upon first use, I noticed the kettle takes longer to heat to a full boil, but the temperature reading helps to know when to take off for certain tea temperatures. I was a little worried that the kettle takes longer to boil for the coffee press, BUT, I was impressed how long the water stays hot in the kettle afterwards! You could drink a cup and come back for your second cup and the water is still hot! Love this. Kettle is well made, light and sits on the base easily, so after my second press this morning, I’m loving this kettle even more. Definitely going to buy more of these Haden black/copper series appliances to update the kitchen!

Works very well and love the colour. Quiet operation. Balances well when pouring water so steam doesn't go up over your hand while pouring. No temperature control, it boils or it doesn't, there's no temperature setting. There is a thermometer on the front though, so you can tell how hot the water is inside, saves having to reboil if you can see water is still hot enough for tea. Looks great on our counter.

Looks great on the counter. Love the retro styling and the temperature gauge. Boils quickly, really holds the heat, and feels good to pour. The lid is a separate piece, which I like because the flip-up lid was the first thing to break on my previous electric kettle. Amazingly, the little handle on the lid does not get hot. Ordered a matching toaster. Very happy with the quality so far!

The kettle takes ~7'45" to boil 1.7 litres of water, not bad but not great either (very similar to boiling similar volume on our gar range); but then, I didn't buy it for speed. It is a cool looking kettle that fits our kitchen's 'splash of red' motif very well. We also needed a larger kettle and the choice of >1 litre kettles is limited. The switch on the back feels sturdy and has a clear detent when turning it on, there is also a blue led on the switch...unfortunately not a matching red one, but it is bright and is visible from the front as it reflects nicely off the tile back splash. So that just leaves the gripes...on switch isn't lit in red, base is a little light and so can move a bit when setting the kettle down. So far that's it - very minor issues or complaints. It is a bit expensive, but it if lasts as well as it looks, that might not be an issue.
