Harder to shoot than you think, but you can feel yourself getting better with each use. I was surprised by how good quality the arrows and bow was. I made a user error by shooting with brick as a backdrop, so I highly recommend that you use something wooden. Not as difficult to draw the bow back as I was initially thinking - I am 30 years old and female and had first tried archery at 18 years old where I couldn't pull the string back at all. Perfect for beginners or just a bit of fun.

The bow itself is just what I was looking for as a total beginner. I just wanted to see if I could shoot it and if it was fun, and now I'm hooked. the draw weight of 30lb is just right for me to be able to learn the basics, and have fun while doing it. its just right for young teens, and adults. And just a warning, this definitely isn't a toy, this will kill things so treat it with respect. The arrows aren't so great, the nocks are slightly too big for the string supplied so they would fall off the string, and one arrow broke very easily shooting at a cardboard target. all the other arrows are still in one piece though. Even after shooting some much harder targets. Everything pictured here was supplied, and the item was exactly as described.

The quality of the bow is ok; easy to assemble. However, the seller needs a rethink on how to package the arrows. 3 of the 6 arrows received has warped fletchings, due to how they've been packaged. As they're plastic, they've permanently taken that form, making them useless. The nocks are missing from the package too, and I doubt very much, after testing, that the draw weight is 40lbs as advertised. Overall, I'm not really impressed and half considering sending back for a complete refund.

Great starter kit,arrows bit heavy but everything in the box yo get a Stert at the dport

I’m learning archery and was told a recurve bow was the place to start, the bow came well packaged in three pieces and was easy to put together,instructions on how to string the bow was easy to follow and in 10 minutes I was shooting my first arrow. Feels rock solid and after a week of constant firing it feels like I just got it, the arrows are very strong and can take some punishment if you happen to miss your target. Highly recommended.

As a beginner I wanted something fairly inexpensive that was still decent enough to see if I really enjoyed archery. This is a fantastic starter set for anyone interested in archery. I went for the 40lbs bow, thinking that I was a bit stronger than most. My recommendation would be to go for the lower pound option, just so that you can practice correct form when shooting. For anyone not sure if they want to get into archery, I would highly recommend this set. As an aside, I upgraded to a sammick sage recurve bow with 30lb limbs. I highly recommend this bow as a follow-on from this starter package set.
