Shoes are Miss Matched
I bought these shoes before for my husband and saw them again and bought them for a trip he was taking. Having the shoe before he saw no need to try it on.Within minutes of walking he had a bleeding blister. The right was slightly smaller than the left. Wow what a blister.Anyway Shoes.com produced the return label and gave me a full refund and fast. So thats a nice guarantee on standing behind their products. It was a $100 shoe with promo code got it down to $81 with free shipping.I went to Macy's..... I live in Oahu, Hawaii and got two pairs of nice mens dress shoes with 20% off coupons I paid $73.00 and they are a matched set.Probably mixed match pairs of shoes are rare with this company but, an ouchy to remember. It will not stop me from ordering shoes or any other products from Amazon and shipping and returns are easy enough when it doesn't work out.

Great Shoes, But Don't Appreciate Being Lied To
Let me first say that these shoes fit great and are very comfortable. Definitely the kind of shoe you can wear all day with no issues. They also shipped very fast. However, they were not what I ordered. I was looking for a pair of matte black shoes - as the image shows - and figured this was the perfect choice, having worn Bostonians for many years. But I noticed a lot of reviews complaining about the shoes being shiny/glossy and not matte. To avoid a potential problem, I emailed Amazon and asked if they were in fact matte black, as the picture shows. I was assured that they indeed were, and that if anyone had received glossy shoes it was a mistake, and only happened very rarely. So I made the purchase, and when they arrived and I opened the box, I saw...a mirror. Seriously, that's how glossy these shoes were. I emailed Amazon back, and was told that unfortunately they didn't even have the matte black (again, AS ADVERTISED IN THE PICTURE) shoes available. So this made me annoyed for 2 reasons. First, Amazon is engaging in false advertising. Secondly, because when I emailed to confirm if the shoes were as advertised, I was lied to and assured that they were as they appeared. Very poor service, Amazon.Long story short, if you are ordering these shoes, you WILL receive the glossy ones. If that's alright for you, order away. If not, look for a different shoe.

Overall good shoes, I have been wearing them for a few weeks now, and they are just now getting broken in to the point where they are comfortable to wear all day. These shoes also have a stitched band between the toe box and the rest of the shoe and that area takes a shine well, making it easy to shine and provides a sharp/clear line between the shined toe and a polished shoe.

Excellent Shoe
These are at the higher end of the Bostonian line, and worth every penny I paid for them. I've worn Cole Haan's for many years but switched to Bostonian because I could no longer justify the price for the CH's. The Bostonians are just as high quality, and the fit and finish is better when compared to the $200 Cole Haan cap toes I used to wear. They seem to have a tougher sole too, and comfort is excellent. I wear a 10.5D and these are sized true. The Bostonians wear better too; I wear a dress shoe five days a week (rotating between two pairs) and these have held up longer and look better/

Nice Shoe, a Little Clunky
I bought these shoes over the Akron because these have a real leather sole, and because they had an EEE width for me. The shoes are quite comfortable for a leather soled shoe and others have said they look sharp. The leather cap on the toe just seems like it could have been a little bit sleeker - it seems like the leather shouldn't have to "stick out" so much, for lack of a better word. That's a minor issue though, and with the low price of these shoe's I'd buy again.

Fits well, except for outside heel cap/topline of the shoe rubs the bottom of the lateral malleolus bone, appears this model's heel cap/topline is cut higher than other Bostonian men's shoes so the sides rub the ankle protrusion - easy fix, using insole air inserts which raises my ankle enough to minimize rubbing of shoe on outside of ankle.

Takes time to break in.
I forgot how hard it is to break in a new pair of shoes. I tried wearing them once a week, but it was a struggle. I kept going to my old pair of shoes with holes in the soles rather than wear these. I did get used to them, but it takes time.

Inconsistent sizing
I ordered one pair of these that arrived on schedule and fit as expected. Knowing I needed a second pair - I reordered the same item and size which also arrived on schedule. The second pair had a completely different fit. They were shorter by a size and were narrower by a size. It is as if they were not made from the same last. I would expect that the same shoe in the same size and width would fit similarly which they did not.
