Marmite Yeast Extract, 4.4-Ounce Jars (Pack of 6)

I have been eating Marmite since I was a small child in the UK. My advice to Americans would be if putting on bread and butter or crackers and butter DO SO VERY SPARINGLY. It is great added to stews,and soups or a little on top of my bacon and potatoes Castrol. I love it on toast crackers and bread with just butter. It's savery and has a beef taste ro it even though naturally vegan. It's also good added to a cup of hot water as a drink with an upset stomach or a cold winters night. Use to make or add flavor to beef gravy. Again if you have not tried it before use it very sparingly if spread on bread or toast and butter. It is very salty as are most stock cubes and pastes. I have found thst if I put it on a friends toast thr first time they enjoy it but otherwise they always put it on like a jam or spread and thsts just to strong with Marmite. Enjoy!.

My wife is from New Zealand and she grew up with Marmite and I am happy I can get the product from Amazon. Marmite is an acquired taste as far as I am concerned but since she likes it I buy it!

This is totally weird. As I was making my way through my first bell of Marmite I noticed that the product got progressively weaker the deeper into the bell I went. To compensate I had to use a lot more Marmite to get the same effect. When I blew through the first bell I was looking forward to getting the strong stuff at the top again but somehow the new jar was even weaker than the stuff at the bottom of the first. This happened for every single jar. How did they know which order I would open them in? I think the FDA needs to look into this. It's possible that the Hobbit meal this stuff is made from has changed recently. I don't know. All I know is now I use 2 tbsp of this stuff a day and my wife claims it makes me hallucinate. If you’ve never tried marmite, you’re in for a taste surprise. Start with a tiny amount on top of buttered toast. It’s a salty, umami like flavor rich in B vitamins.
