not too happy with the consistency of turn on

I bought some of these so I could connect one to a wire going to my mailbox, as a tilt sensor. I melted a few of them in the action of soldering before I realized the bottoms are plastic and they melt very easily, so you can't solder them. I then tryed wrapping the wire around them but found that they seemed very unreliable. Perhaps when you bend the contacts, it also bends the inside and thus stops them from working correctly. I'm just going to have to buy some different ones.

If your circuit can work with a few ohms contact resistance then these are okay.

I am using these tilt switches for a paper circuit project. They work terrific with a coin cell battery to quickly power my handmade tunnel books on and off.
