Hoover 38528-027 Elite Belt (Now 38528-040) 3 pack

When my VERY OLD Hoover stopped suctioning I knew it was just the belt. For $7 I thought it was worth a try to fix. When I first received the belts I watch the very few online videos showing how to take apart my vacuum in order to install it. After several hours I almost gave up. At first I thought the belt was too small. BUT somehow I realized there was more parts to open and finally the belt went on. WALLAH - the vacuum works perfectly now and Save a few hundred dollars!

I ordered this set of belts for my 20+ year old Hoover Elite (model # U5063-930, belt # 38528-027) and it worked perfectly BUT I almost trashed the entire vacuum and returned the belts because it didn't work the first time I installed the new belt. Or the second. Then I read the instructions carefully and noticed that, in bold letters, it was noted to make sure that the numbers printed on the belt faced the outside of the machine. Since there were no numbers printed on the belt, I turned it and reinstalled. And it worked!. I don't know what a simple change of which side of the belt faces the right or left side of the machine makes a difference, but it did.

No instructions, at first appears to be to short of a belt but it does stretch and fit. I placed it on the brush first then stretched it over the motor drive shaft. Replacement belt for original #38528-027. Was disappointed that it wasn’t an original Hoover belt, time will tell how well they hold up. Original belt lasted a very long time (16+ yrs) so hopefully this 3 pack will work long enough

This Hoover replacement belt is exactly what was needed to get my vacuum picking up and running well again. It appears to be made of fresh material and hopefully will last for a very long time. It was very hard to install due to its newness and Thickness, but that should be a plus when it comes to how long it withstands its intended purpose.

This is the exact size of belt that my upright Hoover vacuum calls for. The previous shop I bought the vac from used a belt a size too big, and I didn't realize it, until it stretched to the point the beater-bar would stop on carpet if I had the height setting low enough to really get good suction and brushing of the carpet. These belts are as-labeled, and are the direct replacement part number for my Hoover. I recommend the belts, as I now have 2 extra belts once this one stretches. But, I don't see that happening for quite a long time. The belt was easy to replace on this model of Hoover, and I am very satisfied that the vacuum is now operating at full-suction and factory spec speed of rotation of the beater-bar.

3 belts that are not the same as pictured, with no part # that matches on them, and to they eye look much too small. But__once I read the need to extreme/stretch the belt, I did it with a struggle and now the Hoover Preferred is working again
