After searching to find a match to another tripod that holds a heavy 16" deep ceramic Portuguese platter/bowl, this is a match! Another company uses the same photo, but the design is slightly different, the wood cut thinner, and doesn't function the same. Works better than a metal stand that appeared sturdy., These tripods are a good buy, fold flat for storage, hold a 16" HEAVY 16" hand-painted ceramic Mexican platter well. So exciting to see the platter displayed this way, safely. We even leave them up when young children are visiting.

This plate stand is perfect for holding framed photos!!

What was unexpected about this stand was that it opens completely flat (see attached picture). This makes it less stable. All previous ones I have purchased over the years, in many sizes, always have a mechanism that prevents it from opening past a certain point. This prevents them from splaying open and falling down. It is also much lighter than the other stands that I have, even though they are smaller, which makes it seem less sturdy and less able to support the weight of heavy metal platters. I suspect that they may have made it so that it could open to a full 180 degrees intentionally though, since the ability for it to open as wide as possible also means that it can hold items of many sizes. I put my platter on this one in the china cabinet, and it slid on the glass shelf. To stop that, I put some spongy padding under the "feet" of the stand. So far, it is holding.

I got these— I needed one, really— to display a small piece of art. It works nicely. They are pretty sturdy and do the job.

I really like this. I measured the stand itself and it’s more like 10.25 inches tall. The cookbook I have displayed on it is about 9.25 inches tall and it is perfect! The stand itself is lightweight, but supports the weight of the cookbook just fine (book is just over 150 double-sided pages). I think anything over 200-250 pages would be pushing it. You simple stretch the “legs” of the stand as far in or out as you want it. Simple! Stand has a simple yet elegant style to it and can’t wait to get another cookbook or decorative plate to put on the 2nd stand that comes with this package.

This is a heavy wooden plate holder with up turned edges to hold a plate more securely. It is exactly what I was looking for& it holds my beautiful northern lights plate securely for display! Thank You!

The quality of these stands is better than some I've tried on Amazon. The edges are sanded smooth, no rough spots, and the finish is consistent. But they have cheap hinges with no stops, so these stands open all the way flat. This means that the item you are displaying is the only thing that keeps it upright on three points, and even a slight bump will knock it over. I wouldn't use these stands to hold anything delicate or valuable.

Just what I was looking for. Good size to display some framed photography. Well made and sturdy.
