I’m a chef and I love these knives from France. They are quite legendary in France. Extremely sharp.simply made and will last a very long time. These are made to prepare food and essentials but not to chop wood.

These knives are very well made and easy to resharpen. A nice light weight knife for fishing and taking the hide off a deer. One can’t beat the price.

OPINEL NO. 8 with SHEATH INCLUDED - It's nice to have a folding knife with a sheath. It's more secure on a belt than a standard pocket knife clip for sure. - The belt loop on the back of the sheath will narrowly fit a 2 1/2" wide belt. My 2" wide belt has plenty of room. - The leather of the sheath is quite thin and lightweight. Quite nice as you barely know it's there. - The knife handle size is good and comfortable for my hand, which is about 3 1/4" wide. There's a little extra handle for a slightly larger hand to stay on the handle but not much more. I measure right at 3 1/2" of safe usable handle length. - The knife I received still had a burr on the blade edge. It was not properly finished and honed. I did that myself and is now is good condition. I only used a 1200 grit diamond stone with 10 passes or so on each side then stropped it. - I like the convex grind on the thin blade. Looks nice, cuts nice. - The blade has a sharp 90 degree spine edge on it. Great for fire steel use. - The ring lock works properly. - Overall great value for the money in my opinion. It was $25 at the time of purchase - April 2025.

Great little camping knife. Got a couple for my grand sons who are avid hikers.

Gorgeous craftsmanship

Light weight, sturdy, extremely sharp out of the box, and comfortable handle. This is my first Opinel knife but can honestly say no further need to explore others. I first saw this knife in a Bespoke Post Box but, found it cheaper here. Glad I did. I carry it on my belt every day. I use it for cooking in the kitchen, carving sticks, cutting rope and cords, nylon straps. I use it every day for anything and everything. And, no. need to sharpen it after one month of daily use. I suggest buying the item with sheath so you can quickly attach it to your belt. And the price is awesome.

Perfect little knife, there's a reason they've been making them for so long! The grip feels nice, the locking mechanism is brilliant, and the leather sheath is a great addition too. Very light and affordable but without suffering from poor quality like many other comparable knives. I'd definitely recommend it and plan to buy more!

The four star review on the knife with sheath is due to Amazon not Opinel. The knife is as promised however the sheath is pictured with a carabiner rather than a leather lace. Amazon customer service sent me a return authorization a sent me a replacement. The replacement also came with the leather lace. The sheath does have a belt loop but the carabiner, as shown, would offer an easier attachment to a fishing vest or. I have replaced the lace with my own carabiner. I did make the purchase for the knife first and foremost but the carabiner offered many carry options.

Absolutely fantastic utility knife! Received by next-day delivery and I was highly impressed by the quality of the product! It comes in its own little display like box with the knife and sheath secured inside. The knife is a decent weight and is extremely sturdy so there is no risk of it falling apart anytime soon! The blade is a carbon steel blade and is already ground to an extremely sharp edge and is accompanied by a beautiful Beech handle with a smooth finish to it! Opinel is a fantastic brand that is definitely reliable and this is reflected in their products! Will definitely be expanding my Opinel collection soon!
