These are really large, and the drawstring is just for show. Luckily I know how to run some elastic through to make them elastic waist shorts, which they are not. Length is great. Adorable shorts. This kind of waist is great for older teens and moms who like the shorts to hang on the hips a bit. Not so great for little girls who don't have hips.

My daughter loved this pair of shorts. They are modest, cute and cut from a thick material that will not cling to the leg when wet. But they are enormous! We're hoping she grows into them, but it looks like it might be another year.

These shorts run quite large. They are very cute, but way too big.
