Based on past reviews, I bought this toy for my 20 month-old son for our trip from the U.S. to Hong Kong. I busted it out on the plane, and it kept his little hands busy for literally hours! Amazing! We used it when travelling throughout Hong Kong, on the train, in restaurants, etc. and he continued to love it and it kept him busy and quiet. At first he could only do the red and yellow buckle, but by the end of the week he was starting to get the flat and circular buckles. The only thing is he still needed us to unbuckle it for him, since he hadn't figured it out yet. He would hand it to us, we would unbuckle it, and give it back to him over and over. I also love the numbers and he likes pointing to them and we try to "count" together. So well-made, Bucky survived getting stuffed into backpacks, the diaper bag, being thrown across hotel rooms, and accidentally dropped from the stroller, all without seams breaking or showing dirt! He has also never pinched himself yet. Now that we've been home for 1 month, he can do all the buckles, unbuckle some of them, and still feels satisfaction after completing them all. It's still one of his favorite toys, and he loves giving Bucky hugs. Well-made and recommended for any parent wanting to keep their little ones busy for a while. I bought one for my cousin's daughter who is 14 months old, and hope she loves Bucky just as much!

I bought this for my grandson who has a "thing" for opening and closing buckles. Unfortunately he was getting pretty good and opening the buckles on his high chair, car seat and just about all of those meant to keep him safely secured. I'm not sure why buckles are such an interesting thing but apparently they are. So, I ordered this toy in the hopes that it would keep him occupied with the right buckles and he would leave the safety ones alone! I'm pleased to report that this has become one of his favorite toys! Even though he often doesn't necessarily pair the right colored buckle with it's mate, they all seem to go together somehow and it keeps him busy and entertained. There's even a zipper on the back (shell) side of the turtle and the buckles come in a variety of styles. He will fiddle with this toy endlessly!

my 2 yo absolutely loves this toy! struggles to unbuckle them but loves putting them back together. great for car rides when there's a passenger to unbuckle it!

I bought this for my son and my friends daughter who is 7 weeks older than my son. My son is 11 months old and I plan on giving this to him on his birthday. My friends daughters birthday is this weekend so I'll come back and update you on how she likes it. I got a chance to fiddle around with it though. I wanted to make sure the buckles wouldn't "snap" shut as I don't want to risk getting their little fingers caught in the buckles when they clip. But the buckle clicks shut very softly if that makes any sense. They don't have a lot of resistance so it's a smooth click when they do close. Not a tight click (again if that makes any sense). I think it's a perfect gift for their learning brains. I give it a 5 star rating because the product is WELL put together, no loose strings. The zipper is on there right and it's MEANT for a toddler. I don't feel as if these buckles are ANY where close to the car seat buckles. I posted on Facebook about this item seeing if any of my friends has used this with their kids and immediately someone mentioned "I don't think this is a good idea. It's teaching them how to get out of their car seats or high chairs" - NOT AT ALL THE CASE. If your kid can unbuckle themselves then I would be more concerned about the company making your carseat or high chair rather than this little toy. Car seat buckles are SO strong and difficult to unbuckle even as an adult. I wouldn't worry about if your kid can unbuckle himself/herself after using this toy. This toy teaches them how to unbuckle but they are gentle buckles. Not durable car seat buckles

Granddaughter loves playing with her new turtle and spends lots of time putting the buckles together! They could have a little more slack between them, but great toy!

The perfect toy for littles who haven’t quite figured out buckles! My son has Autism and CMT and has trouble with gripping, this cute little turtle has given him the ability to grasp and open clasps!

I was driving down the road one day when I glanced back and noticed my two year old son had unbuckled his carseat belt. He loves buckles! After warning him that this was unsafe, I decided I needed something with buckles for him to play with while in the car. My son loves "Bucky." Each buckle is a little different, which provides variety. Some of the buckles are more challenging than others. This is great for fine motor skills. Bucky also has a small zippered section. My son enjoys playing with the zipper and hiding his pacifier in the pouch. The numbers on the turtle and cheerful colors make it a wonderful teaching tool. Most importantly, my son no longer plays with his carseat buckle because he can practice his buckle skills with "Bucky." This is a really cute item!
