Chocolate Supergreens
This chocolate variety actually tastes pretty good. Mix it with almond milk, fresh banana and PB powder, quite tasty. There's a small aftertaste of the greens, but hey that's what it is, Supergreens! I've also noticed some improvement with energy levels. Good stuff!

Great taste, more energy, and very nutritious
INTRO: I was in the market for a new superfood supplement and ran across reviews for Amazing Grass. Previously I had been taking tablet forms of spirulina, chlorella, wheat grass, and barley grass, all of which made me gag briefly due to taste and texture. I knew the health benefits of those but honestly never felt much of an energy boost from them. I was hesitant about the idea of making a shake/smoothie every day but decided to give it a shot. Knowing I would probably hate the original grass version of Amazing Grass, I initially decided to order both the Chocolate and Berry flavors, and later the ORAC. I juice fresh fruit every morning so I decided to use the Berry in the morning and Chocolate in the afternoon. TASTE: I definitely like the flavor of the Chocolate grass (who doesn't love chocolate...). In the afternoon I mix up a shake of chocolate flavored organic rice protein, raw organic cacao powder, the chocolate Amazing Grass, chocolate Garden of Life RAW meal, flax milk, and almond milk, and it tastes fantastic with no "grassy undertones" whatsoever. I actually sometimes make 2 or 3 just because I like the taste as an afternoon snack. EFFECTS: I can definitely tell an immediate energy boost within minutes of drinking the Amazing Grass. What is great is that the effect is not a jittery, amphetamine-like boost that one would usually get from energy drinks and coffee; it is instead an "overall" energy boost and general absence of lethargy that allows you to continue about your day like usual without feeling the need for a nap or an espresso shot. Moreover, if it is not a placebo effect, I also feel like it slightly enhances my mental clarity. Besides the energy boost and great taste, it obviously feels good to know you're getting all those nutrients and superfoods in a small scoop. I am a big cacao fan so it's nice to have some extra cacao in the Chocolate Amazing Grass. Note that it is important to use Amazing Grass on an empty or light stomach so that all the nutrients are properly absorbed. Basically, if you're worried at all about flavor, I would suggest ordering the Chocolate grass and making a chocolate milkshake - maybe even consider adding a bit of organic chocolate syrup or chocolate flavored coconut ice cream. That way, you will not taste the Amazing Grass at all, which is why I like to add soy protein and cacao powder. When you open the lid, you can smell the rich chocolate flavor and it does not smell like grass at all, whereas the Berry smells and tastes a little like grass. For those wanting to lose weight, this stuff definitely curbs your appetite and almost makes it feel like you've actually eaten a small meal, especially when mixed with protein powder. Needless to say, it also cleans out your bowels very quickly each day. CONCLUSION: Compared to other superfood and holistic nutrient supplements, Amazing Grass is a relatively good value, especially from Amazon. I am very glad I found Amazing Grass and will continue to order it as my primary superfood nutrient source.

Surprisingly good!
I like most people of advanced age am Trying to prolong my time on this mortal coil. With that said I’ve taken a renewed interest in keeping my body in good health. I always have kept active in the past but I ended up Injuring a body part that made me a little sedentary and not as active as I used to be. I’m also not the greatest cook and so while I love vegetables I have to admit I’m not always good at getting them into my body. I do want to preface that I was looking for another product when I came across this one and I decided to take a chance on it. Needless to say I’m very happy that I did. Here are my thoughts on this amazing grass greens blend super food. I’m gonna come right out and say this does not taste like chocolate. Maybe chocolate with a cherry tinge to it, or a berry tinge to it. While it’s not offputting it Is it taste that you’re not gonna be used to. After about three days I got used to it. I don’t even think about it anymore when I drink it. Another thing is that it’s a little chalky, not really chalky but maybe a little gritty. I noticed it as I got closer to the bottom of the drink as most likely particles are settling at the bottom. At first I found a little irritating, but then I had to remember I’m not really blending this in a smoothie or anything I’m just using water. It probably might not be as bad as with milk or some other milk like product, but it is gritty and it is what it is. I tried it with hot water and it still was gritty. Does that mean you should drink it? Well that’s up to you. In my case it’s really not that big of a deal. Do I feel like it’s working for me? I actually do. I do notice a difference in my energy levels and my stomach doesn’t feel as bloated as I used to. I’ve also noticed that I’m not as hungry as I used to be, so that is definitely a change I’ve noticed as well. I’m not a scientist or a doctor but personally I feel like my nutrition level is a little bit better. I’m also making a conscious choice to get more vegetables So that could be helping as well. So my personal opinion if you’re on the fence I will buy it again. I’m about three weeks in and so far so good.

Your body will thank you!
This is the nectar of the Gods. The stuff of miracles. I could honestly wax poetically about it all day. I'll break it down for ya: Taste: I love the taste of this product. However, it's not for everyone. It's very "earthy" tasting with a hint of cocoa. If you enjoy items like hemp milk, you will likely also enjoy this. If you are expecting sweetness or Hershey's, you are barking up the wrong tree. The cocoa taste is subtle and natural. In my experience, it mixes perfectly with almond milk. I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Day to day, this is the way I drink it because it's easily prepared. If you want to get fancy, mixing it with peanut butter (or PB2) and banana is some next level heavenly stuff in your cup. Mixability: Why isn't this a real word? Anyway, it's not the easiest powder I've ever tried to mix, but with the right liquid to powder ratio and a good mixing cup, it does mix pretty well. You don't NEED to use a blender, which is awesome. I have never mixed it just in water alone, but a nice trick I have implemented is to mix the powder with a bit of water first and then add in a cup of milk. This seems to be the key to a smooth mixture with limited powdery chunks (as you see in a lot of other powders). It's got a nice frothy thickness to it once it's fully mixed. Effects: Here's where I have nothing but positive and delightful things to say. This product has made a HUGE difference in how I feel. Several positive effects happened within days of drinking this daily: my energy level soared, I was able to focus on tasks and manage stress better, I craved junk food much less, and my tummy, which is prone to issues since I had my gallbladder removed, became much happier. In addition, my skin has even noticeably improved. I won't claim there's magical healing powers in this powder, but post jaw surgery I drank it 1-2 times a day and my recovery time was several days shorter than estimated. I did a lot of research on quality ingredients before purchasing Green Superfood and in my opinion, it has all the right stuff to improve your well being, boost your energy level, and make you feel good. I would not use this as substitute for real food or even a meal replacement, but it is a great compliment to your breakfast on the go or the perfect snack between meals/pre-workout. If you're looking for a cleaner, more natural way to up your ante, this is a great product to try for yourself!

Delicious, Nourishing, and Now a Daily Habit
I’ve bought this smoothie blend three times now — it’s officially a staple in my kitchen. Not only does it taste great, but I actually feel better when I drink it. My body just seems happier, more energized, and supported. You can tell it’s packed with good stuff. It blends super well, and I usually mix it with blueberries, peanut butter, and a little honey — total bliss. It’s one of those rare products that feels indulgent but is actually doing something good for you. If you’re looking for a simple, delicious way to get more nutrients into your day without forcing yourself to “be healthy,” this is an easy yes. Highly recommend giving it a try — especially if you love smoothies as much as I do!

Pretty good supplement on paper, hoping the body will like it in the long term.
I bought Amazing Grass to mix in as part of an energy drink for a healthy snack or recovery after a long run, and also just as a supplement. The reviews are wonderful and the price wasn't too bad, so I bought the Chocolate variety for mixing with unsweetened Almond milk and Plant Fusion protein powder. Sometimes when I'm hungry and need the drink to be filling, I also add a dollop of peanut butter. So, the taste. I've never tasted wheatgrass or any other "superfood supplement" and I can only imagine that they taste like vomit, as people count Amazing Grass as one of the better tasting drinks of its kind... while I find myself doing all kinds of flavor mixing just to be able to tolerate a single scoop in ~ 16oz of liquid. It smells and looks just like the henna you use to dye your hair! It tastes like hay, like barnyard dried grassy hay. Not super unpleasant, but not something I'd imagine someone would choose to eat if it didn't come with other, larger benefits. I cannot detect any cocoa flavor in it. It says cocoa on the ingredient list, but it's pure grass in flavor. The physical results: I'm not sure. I've been drinking one serving a day for a month now, and it's very hard to say if it's done much on its own. I've definitely benefited from eliminating dairy from my diet (which I did concurrently with starting Amazing Grass) and I'm confident the probiotics are healthy for me, but I don't feel any extra energy or anything like that. Nor did I expect to, since none of the ingredients are those that would give the average person's body an actual short-term boost. When I recently went on vacation and forgot to bring any with, there wasn't any difference in my daily energy or feelings of health, though I started right back up upon returning home. Now after 30 days of use, when it came time to reorder, I thought about it carefully and I realized I'm pretty happy with the way I'm feeling these days and in case any part of that came from the addition of Amazing Grass, I'm purchasing another container. This time I've ordered the non-flavored stuff, since it was less expensive and I've been adding a teaspoon of cocoa powder to my drinks anyway to help mask the hay-like henna flavor. I guess now I'll see if the minimal amount of cocoa they put in the chocolate variety had any flavor to it! :::UPDATE::: Since the above review I've been using the unflavored Amazing Grass and haven't noticed any taste difference between it and the chocolate once it's mixed into my vanilla almond milk. I've completely gotten used to the taste and the grassy hay flavor has become very normal to me, so I no longer need to mask it with a lot of cocoa powder unless I'm in the mood for chocolate. Overall I feel kind of like I do when taking a multivitamin: I can't feel any immediate difference, but I believe it's rounding out my diet in good but subtle ways, so I'll continue to take it.

Superfood, is right!!!
Wow. Bought this based on the overwhelming majority of excellent seemingly unpaid reviews (thanks fellow shoppers!) and must concur with the majority. I have now worked my way through 2-3 of the full size jars, which we put on Subscribe & Save, after initially trying the smaller jar. So...I don't work out regularly, partly because it just ain't my bag and partly because I have little free time...and partly because I'm tired ALL THE TIME and it's a vicious circle. You're lethargic so you don't work out so your metabolism slows so you stay lethargic so you don't work out so your metabolism....on and on. Went to a GP and then to an endocrinologist who suspected hypothyroidism because I'm female/tired/losing hair but too young to be losing hair/cold all the time/retaining weight even on ultra-low calorie intake/dry skin, yada yada yada. But the thyroid test comes back negative whilst meanwhile I want to lay down and die now and then. They gave me uppers, but though it makes me 'normal' ( not speedy, just how I used to be when I was normal) I don't want to be chained to Big Pharma if I don't hafta be. So I bought this. I bought chocolate flavor despite not caring for chocolate because it seemed to be one of the best-reviewed in terms of mixability and flavor...not tasting like a bag of lawn clippings. It is a VERY fine powder that smells of cocoa powder with a hint of...lawn clippings. I bought a carton of chocolate almond milk to mix it into, since chocolate-on-chocolate seemed strategically sound. Do yourself a favor and buy one of those shaker cups with the flip top and the wire mixing ball inside. Stirring with a spoon is tiresome and lengthy and results in grittiness unless you want to devote a half hour to the task, which you don't. Do yourself another favor and put the liquid in FIRST. And only THEN add the powder. If you put the powder in first, you will never get it all off the bottom, where it will stay, hard and defiant and a waste of dollars. I sipped gingerly, expecting grass flavor. But although you will not mistake it for Nestle Quik, it is not bad tasting in chocolate milk. I'm telling you. If I can drink it you can. I'm the world champion of dubious eaters. Try it. It grows on you, too. At first sip I thought...well, I can choke this down...I guess. Now I care not, though I do keep it in the blender cup so I can reshake as desired ( I'm picky about texture too and eventually it does settle out). Use more liquid than recommended if you want to hide the taste/texture even more (I do). So as I sat on the couch staring at the wall reflecting on what might have brought me to this sad state of drinking chocolate grass out of a gym rat bottle, I actually noticed, within twenty minutes of the first sip....HEY. I feel awake. Not high, or amped up like I just took phentermine or a load of caffeine, just...alert. Is that the same wall I was staring at? Why was I tired? Is there time before I have to leave the house to put in some laundry and wipe down this leather couch that the dogs keep befouling with their muddy feet? Where ARE the dogs anyway? They could use a wash too, since the couch is about to be clean. I felt normal. I have no testimonial about how much weight I've lost or how glorious my skin looks or how much weight I can bench now. I'm sure if you were normal to begin with you might achieve some of that. I was just looking to not feel like a zombie, a potted plant, and that I definitely got. When I do NOT take it I DO feel a difference. I then recommended it to my husband, who does work out regularly, and firmly in the no-hippie-lawn-clippings-for-me category. He would not add even a pinch to his workout shake. I made him sip mine one morning on the promise it did not taste like dirt or grass. He said it wasn't bad. A short while later he confessed he had subsequently added a SMALL scoop to his workout drink and d@&$ if he didn't feel more alert and had more stamina that morning. Since then, he uses more than I do. For alertness and energy with no crash and no jitteriness, this is your daddy right here. Is it unfortunate that it's made out of vile green things that you have to hide to keep from gagging? Yeah, maybe. But you CAN hide it, so pick up the small size and see for yourself. It's very competitively priced here, btw. Our local grocer wants almost as much for the smaller jar.

Wonderful product, great for everyday!
I absolutely love these greens! Ordering more as I write this review. Being a flight attendant I am exposed to nearly every germ you can imagine. Not only that, but there are many days where we are forced to buy food on the go. Eating out isn't always what it's cracked up to be, and many times can still leave you feeling like something is missing. That is where the greens come into play. I have tried several different flavors of this brand, and all have been quite good. The original is a little rough, especially if this is a new regiment for your daily diet. I really enjoy both the chocolate and the berry. The chocolate I use in the mornings to mix with my chocolate protein shakes. Now don't get me wrong, you can still taste the greens in the protein shake but they become a very welcomed taste. At first when I began making these shakes it took a little getting use to for the flavor, but the way it left you feeling throughout the day was so good that it was worth it. I noticed that taking these greens every day was helping curve my cravings towards junk food, and I had a little more energy throughout the day. I definitely notice less bloating and my digestive system loves them. After a while I began to wonder if it was a combo of the protein shake helping with all these great attributes, so when I ran out of the greens we gave it a month before reordering to test this theory. While the shakes were great on their own, the greens were definitely the source of the positive aspects I listed. Now unfortunately I am often on the road and cannot make shakes every day. Nor do I want to wear out a good thing, so I decided to purchase the berry flavor. Now this flavor I use differently and I almost always mix it with Raspberry Emergen-C. This is my way of combating all the germs on the plane and keeping my immune system in balance so I am not getting sick every flu season. Let me tell you... it works! During my flight training almost every single one of my classmates got really sick from the long days, cold weather (27 degrees), and cafeteria food. However, I took this EVERYDAY (though at that time I was using the Original flavor with all different flavors of Emergen-C) and I was one of the very few that did not get sick. It really helps to give your body what it is lacking nutritionally on a daily basis. Between flying and having IBS, it has been a struggle keeping my digestive system and dietary needs in balance; I truly feel that this has made a difference in keeping my system moving and obtaining the nutrients I need. Hopefully you will enjoy your purchase as much as I have! I can certainly say that I will continue to be back for more!
